Description

Termine is a rustic farmhouse dating back to 1813! Masterfully restored, respecting shapes, volumes and materials, it preserves the authenticity of a distant past. The structure has an impressive functional and rational simplicity, a testament to the rural civilization of the past. The sun guarantees energy independence. Fresh spring water flows down the mountain. 20,000 square meters of woods and meadows are available. For those seeking environmental and landscape quality, to regenerate body and soul. The space The building is divided into three blocks, two of which are on two floors and connected to each other. There is space for: a renovated kitchen with breakfast table and large dining area; living room with fireplace, two sofa areas (one of which can be converted into a double bed) and play area; large loft with two double beds; atrium wardrobes and bathroom. Stone partition walls, wooden floors and stairs are appreciated when moving from one room to another. In the third block, there is a charming double bedroom with a fireplace and under the cellar, just as it was designed and built 210 years ago. The room and cellar are externally connected by a stone staircase covered by a suggestive vault. There is also ample space in the old cowshed to leave mountain bikes and/or other things safe and sheltered from the weather. Outside there is running water, necessary for grilling and a dining table. On top of the large lawn south of the building, in a suggestive setting, a second table with benches. The building, well restored inside, is ready to accommodate those looking for a stay of marked environmental and landscape quality, those who want vacations that are good for the body and soul and those who appreciate nights without the light pollution of inhabited centers. The roof and its insulation, floors and bathrooms have been redone. The centuries-old doors have been restored. The old fireplace has been replaced with a wood-burning fireplace that is better from an ecological point of view and brings hot air into the living areas. Energy efficiency is guaranteed by solar panels that make the building self-sufficient. A renovated gas system guarantees the supply of constantly hot water and the proper functioning of a five-burner stove and an oven that matches the prestige of the property. The water supply is fed with fresh spring water from the overlying Tornago Mountains, thanks to 300 m of underground piping. The Termine farmhouse, as it has been restored, still retains the authenticity of a bygone era, even if nothing has been overlooked to improve its habitability. The recent work inside the farmhouse was carried out with skill, based on the solid roots of knowledge handed down from generation to generation, and with skills and expertise equal to those of the hands that laid stones and cut beams and planks 200 years ago. The essence of Termine is time itself: days, months and years of hard work to build and preserve the building in an exemplary way. Guest access Independent access to the house and its spaces. Four owned parking spaces available. Self check-in is available: key box with code available. Other things to note WHERE YOU WILL FIND YOURSELF East side of Monte Tamaro, Monte Ceneri Pass, Rivera, Ticino, Switzerland The Termine house is located on the mountain that leads to Monte Tamaro, in the Rivera area, one of the five districts of the Municipality of Monteceneri, and is connected to the Ceneri Pass by a paved road with transit allowed only to residents. It is 1 km from the Ceneri Pass (bus stop), 2 km from the Rivera highway exit, 2.5 km from Rivera train station, 17 km from Lugano, 15 km from Bellinzona, 25 km from Locarno, 50 km from Como, and 100 km from Milan. Termine is 703 meters above sea level, just above the Monte Ceneri pass which is located 554 meters above sea level and is a historic place of transit, border and green lung in the center of the Canton of Ticino. In the early 1900s, Monte Ceneri was also known as a place of healing. In 1912, on the eve of the First World War, construction began on the fortified works including the Forte di Spina, now a historical monument, a short walk from Termine. Until 1950, the meadows of Temine were a training ground for the heavy artillery cannons housed in the nearby parade ground. Radio Monte Ceneri, famous in Europe during World War II, began broadcasting in 1933 and one of the 125-meter-high antenna pylons still stands on the hill and is a historical monument protected by the Confederation. In Termine, you can breathe not only clean air but also history. Registration Details NL-00007201
