The Nest is a family-owned, 2023-built cabin featuring a large covered deck, patio furniture, front yard firepit and hammock. Enjoy an open kitchen/living room floor plan, 1 queen size bed and 1 full size bed in the cozy loft above. A mini-split provides heating and cooling comfort. We'd love to host you for a forest stay in the Red River Gorge! FEATURES -open-floorplan kitchen + living room -1 queen bed on main floor, 1 full bed in loft -living room with small couch + 2 chairs -north, road-facing fire pit, south, forest-facing covered porch AMENITIES -full bath (shower, but no bath tub) -full kitchen including oven, 4 burner stove top, coffee-maker, toaster, etc -TV with apps to log into your personal streaming services (no DVD player, cable, provided streaming apps) ACCESSIBILITY CONSIDERATIONS -gravel road and parking -wooden stairs to porch + front door -ladder to loft with full size bed OUTDOOR FEATURES -patio table and chairs for outdoor dining -fire pit + chairs (plan to bring or buy local firewood, fire starters, etc... kindling can be collected in the surrounding forest) -charcoal grill (plan to bring or buy your own charcoal, lighter fluid, etc) Guests have access to the entire cabin! Though one supply closet will be locked. The hosts or co-host are available via text or phone call. It is our priority that you have a great stay! Forested neighborhood of cabins, each sitting on 1-5 acres WATER -The Nest's water is provided by truck delivery to a cistern. The water is recommended for bathing and cooking, but not recommended for drinking. We provide one 5 gallon jug of drinking water for your stay, but please plan to bring more if you think you will need it. FIREWOOD -We do not provide firewood for the fire pit, though sometimes there are a few pieces left from previous guests. -Please plan to bring or buy your own local wood. It is sold at various stores and at family roadside stands. -Also plan to bring any fire starters you may need -You are welcome to collect tinder and kindling in the forest surrounding the cabin. CHARCOAL GRILL -We do not provide charcoal for the grill, though sometimes there is some left over from previous guests. -Please plan to bring or buy your own charcoal and lighter fluid. -We provide a large metal trash can to dispose ashes in.
