The Ihantola building: The Ihantola building is a true gem of architectural craft. Located in the heart of Helsinki's bustling Kallio district, this stunning building stands tall and proud, a testament to the creativity and innovation of Finnish design. Designed by the Finnish construction chief & architect O. E. Koskinen, the Ihantola building was completed in 1907 and quickly became a beloved landmark of the area. Its distinctive Art Nouveau style is a feast for the eyes, with appealing geometric patterns and bold lines that draw the gaze in and invite further exploration. Besides the facade, the interior of the building is equally remarkable. The high-ceilings and expansive windows flood the flats with natural light, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere for residents. Additionally, the building's communal areas, such as the charming courtyard and grand staircase, are just as striking, serving as a breathtaking setting for daily life in this bustling neighborhood. Despite its age, the Ihantola building has been carefully maintained and updated over the years, ensuring that it remains a top-quality residence for modern-day Helsinki residents. Its location in Kallio is an added bonus, with a wealth of amenities and attractions just steps away, including restaurants, cafes, parks, and cultural venues. Whether you're a lover of architecture, a history buff, or simply someone who appreciates beauty and craftsmanship, the Ihantola building is a must-see destination. Its timeless elegance and enduring appeal make it a true gem of Finnish design, and a shining example of what makes this country's architectural heritage so special. Please note that there is no elevator in the building and the apartment is located on the 4th floor. A travel cot is available for 10€ per night, up to a maximum of 50€ per stay. High chairs can be rented for 5€ per night, up to a maximum of 20€ per stay. Other things to note Please note that in Finland, the standard indoor temperature is set between 18-21°C, per official guidelines. Central heating is capped at 21°C to promote energy efficiency, and heating costs are shared across the building, meaning owners and tenants cannot adjust the system. Rapid temperature changes may cause brief delays in heating adjustment. This system is common in the Nordics and supports Finland's sustainable energy efforts. Thank you for your understanding! Keep in mind that for environmental reasons, only one towel is provided for each guest. If you require extra towels, they must be requested 24 hours in advance at an additional cost of €10 per towel. Additionally, this is a self check-in property. The key pickup location is conveniently located within 220 meters of the apartment.
