Description
Esperanza 9 was originally the village blacksmith, and latterly a garage where the owner shelled his almonds. Now, it has been reformed into a stylish and unique home that draws inspiration from the traditional elements of Moorish and Andalucian architecture. Water and light played central roles in the design of the property, and the interiors connect seamlessly with the exterior space. Cool in the summer and cosy in the winter, this is a property for all seasons. The space The interior of the house has been designed to be as open as possible, to allow light in and to frame the views outside. On the ground floor, there is a spacious open-plan living room and fully-equipped kitchen. The main pieces of furniture (sofa, beds etc) have been built in to fit the space perfectly. Other items of furniture are mainly antique and have been sourced locally from favourite suppliers. Throughout the house, the walls are decorated with original works of art, some of which are for sale either as originals or as Giclée prints. The kitchen has an AEG oven, induction hob, Bosch dishwasher and washing machine and a large Bosch microwave. There is a kettle, Nespresso machine, toaster and full range of crockery and glassware. From the dining area, there is a door to the pool terrace, and the sitting area has a wood-burning stove. The ground floor bedroom is large and open-plan with a capacious Arabic-style bath, rainwater shower and twin wash basins set onto a wooden vanitory unit. Separate WC. The windowsills are at eye level with the surface of the plunge pool, and the water from the pool casts ripples of light onto the bedroom ceiling. The first floor bedroom is also open-plan, and sits beneath a beautiful Scandinavian timber pitched roof. From the bed, there are views of Moclín Castle. There is an Arabic-style bath with rainwater shower, twin wash basins and separate WC. Seating area and small library with views across to the mountains. Double doors open onto the roof terrace. The roof terrace is a beautiful feature with plenty of space for outside dining or sunbathing. There is a dining table and a built-in barbecue, sun-loungers, beanbags and deck-chairs. Along the length of the roof terrace there is an acequias (water channel) that cascades into the plunge pool below. Please note: the house is unsuitable for children aged between 2 and 16 years as the pool and water channels are unfenced. This is a stylish and unique house that has been designed to inspire our guests. Guest access The house is a home for our guests and the only part that is kept securely closed is the pool machinery room. Other things to note The house is equipped as a home and is filled with everything that you might need during your stay. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property, either inside or out. As mentioned elsewhere, the house is not suitable for children aged between 2 and 16 years.
