Explore the picturesque countryside walks, ideal for walking dogs, rambling, or simply immersing yourself in the tranquil Suffolk surroundings. You'll be captivated by the beauty that unfolds with every step. If you're up for a bit of adventure and exploration, there are several noteworthy attractions in the vicinity. Just 12 miles away, you'll find the magnificent Ickworth House, National Trust, a splendid estate with it's wonderful Rotunda, offering a glimpse into history and stunning landscapes. In the neighbouring village of Long Melford lies Melford Hall, a National Trust estate, famous for being frequented by Beatrix Potter, who stayed at the Hall many times while visiting relatives. During her stays at Melford Hall, she created numerous watercolour paintings of the house. Melford Hall will teach you about the regions rich heritage, while taking in the breathtaking architecture and stunning grounds. Also situated in neighbouring Long Melford is Kentwell Hall, a red bricked stately home that hosts historical re-enactments. Kentwell Hall is one of the most famous moated Tudor Houses in England, nestled within 25 acres of stunning gardens and parkland - a must visit. South of Long Melford is Sudbury, a delightful market town situated on the banks of the picturesque River Stour. Board a train, and in just over an hour, you can find yourself in the bustling metropolis of London, or Norwich, both perfect for a spontaneous city break. Whether you're seeking relaxation, adventure, or a mix of both, our cosy cottage in Glemsford offers the perfect base to experience the best of Suffolk and its surroundings. We look forward to welcoming you to our little slice of countryside paradise. The cottage - On entering the property you are greeted by the cosy living room with two comfy double sofas, perfect for relaxing on after a busy day of exploring the beautiful Suffolk countryside. There are also a large selection of information leaflets available for you to peruse and plan your days out. Moving on through you enter the well-equipped and spacious kitchen/diner with built-in oven, gas hob and microwave. There is an integrated dishwasher and washing machine. The kitchen is also equipped with all necessary crockery and cookware to be able to prepare and cook delicious meals, along with an ample sized fridge freezer. If required there is an ironing board and iron located in the kitchen cupboard. There is a circular dining table which comfortably seats 4. Following on from the kitchen is the rear lobby that has a tumble dryer, vacuum, coat rack and boot tray. Off the rear lobby is a light and airy bathroom which has a bath, overhead shower, toilet and sink. The garden can be accessed from the lobby where you will find a lovely inviting garden with a patio area and seating for you to enjoy a drink in the sunshine. The garden has a small central lawn surrounding by a selection of colourful container plants. A washing line is situated towards the end of the garden if required. The garden does have a right of way for numbers 6-7 Bells Lane but is infrequently used. Moving to the upstairs of the property, the bedrooms are accessed by a steep staircase but there is a sturdy handrail to assist. Both bedrooms have been decorated in a stylish decor with inviting beds and cushions to allow you to fall into a deep slumber ready to start a new exciting day. All bedlinen and towels are 100% cotton. The first bedroom has a gorgeous feature wall, dressing table and mirror, clothes rail, chair, full length mirror and a large built in storage cupboard. The second bedroom has been tastefully decorated with another stunning feature wall. There is a dressing table and mirror/workspace with lighting, tall chest of drawers, chair and full length mirror. There is a built-in wardrobe/cupboard, this is where the hairdryer is located. If required, a travel cot and high chair are available on request; we can also fit a stair gate at the bottom of the stairs for safety. There are smoke alarms located in the kitchen/living room and landing, along with a fire blanket and fire extinguisher in the kitchen. An additional fire extinguisher is situated on the landing. A carbon monoxide alarm is fitted in the kitchen. Emergency lighting is fitted on the stairs/landing, kitchen and lobby. The cottage is heated by gas central heating. If guests need to work in the property we can supply an office chair for working at the kitchen table; supplied upon request. Pets are allowed at the property, however they must remain downstairs at all times. The cottage is a smoke-free property and candles/naked flames are prohibited. At the front of the property there is a parking space for one vehicle. Guest access Guests will be able to access all of the property and will have exclusive use of the entire house and garden during their stay. The garden does have a right of way with numbers 6 & 7 Bells Lane, to enable them to access the rear of their properties but this is infrequently used. Due to this right of way, please ensure that the side gate remains unlocked. Please be aware of this if you have pets staying with you. Other things to note Steep staircase with handrail. A comprehensive information folder is available at the cottage, containing instructions for all appliances, including the central heating system. All appliances in the property have been PAT tested therefore if guests use their own appliances in the property and damage is caused as a result of this use, i.e. a fire, then guests are liable for any damage.
