Lakefront cottage, beach & dock on Lake Margrethe
Description
No extra cleaning fee! Amazing waterfront retreat at Maggie, Grayling's Lake House, 15 minutes from Grayling, Michigan on Lake Margrethe. In warm weather, step to our private beach on a clear, sandy-bottom lake perfect for swimming, wading, fishing, boating, etc. When the weather cools off, enjoy miles of trails for walking, ATVs, and snowmobiles. Ski at Hansen Hills or bundle up and go ice fishing. We are about 10 minutes from the Manistee and Au Sable for fly fishing, canoeing, and tubing. The space Our waterfront four-season home has four bedrooms (one is a separate den with sofa bed) and two bathrooms with showers. Our kitchen is ready for you to cook a hearty meal. You will find everything you need to relax in comfort, including WIFI, cable and access to streaming services, and a washer/dryer. The cottage was built in 1968, and has been renovated with quality finishes and stainless steel appliances. The art and accents offer a modern lodge feeling with comfort and style. Outside, tie your boat near our dock or grab your pfd and borrow our kayaks. The water is shallow at the dock and perfect for families. We have a separate tie out to keep your watercraft secure. Fishing is great on the lake for panfish, walleye, and muskies, and we are minutes away from the two best trout streams in the United States, the Au Sable and the Manistee. Boat all day and fly fish all night! We are across the street from a nature preserve and a mix of trails for walking or off-roading with your own snowmobiles or ATVs. Guest access We are at the end of a quiet neighborhood by the state campground, a nature preserve, and hiking/snowmobiling trails. We have lots of room to park, both on our main parking area and a gravel pad off the lawn, which is great for boat trailers. You have access to the entire property except for the garage and a locked storage closet which contains boring stuff like salt for the water softener. If you bring a boat, please tie it to the buoy by the new dock. Tying boats to docks causes damage, and that gets expensive. The boat launch is in the campground at the end of our road. It's a state park, so there's a small fee or just use your rec passport. Other things to note We have a new dock and a boat tie-out. If you wish to bring your own boat, you can launch it at the state campground's boat launch (you need a rec passport or to pay to enter the campground). Do not tie your boat to the dock, because that causes damage of course. We are about 10 minutes from a well-stocked party store with general supplies, and 15 minutes from Grayling's restaurants, grocery stores, drug stores, etc. We recommend Skip's Sport Shop for any fishing needs, and North Country Outfitters for gear and kayaking, biking, and skiing stuff. Multiple golf courses are a very short drive away, as are the tubing and canoe liveries for the Au Sable River.
