Less than 2 minutes walk to the picturesque beach and famous fishing harbour and just one minute’s walk away is Whitstable’s other gem — Harbour Street, renowned for its fascinating variety of independent shops. Here you’ll find a range of restaurants, deli’s, bookshops, cheese shops, cake shops, wine shops, ice cream parlours and art galleries. Carry on to High Street and Oxford Street for vintage shops, greengrocers, butchers, bakers, theatre and much more. A perfect base for holidays or weekend breaks for couples or families. Pets are very welcome too.Take a barbeque to the beach with a bottle of wine and enjoy a stunning Whitstable sunset. Nearby there are many other activities to choose from, such as tennis courts, bowling, golf, water sports and a swimming pool. This characterful period cottage provides comfortable open plan living/dining area downstairs for four people featuring a cosy living room with traditional furnishings, two double bedrooms upstairs (one with a double bed, the other with two single beds. There are two bathrooms (one upstairs and one downstairs), a fully equipped kitchen and a quiet, private and secluded garden equipped with barbecue, garden seating and table. Other details to note Please note that the cottage is in a residential area and we ask all guests to respect the neighbours by keeping noise levels to a minimum especially at night. There is free parking on the street/outside the cottage or on one of the parallel roads a 1-2 minute walk away. There is also a car park 125 yards away diagonally across the street which offers a much reduced tariff for parking overnight on most days. The Harbour car park is a few minutes along the road & also has lots of spaces. The station is a ten minute walk away & guests are often happy to unload luggage from their car, find a parking space & leave the car there as everything is within a few minutes walk or easily accessible on foot. The Station car park offers all day parking at a very reasonable price. There are buses to Canterbury, Margate and Faversham which stop at the end of the road, a moment’s walk away. Private garden All areas are just for guests Essentials: Cooking basics Dedicated workspace Dishes and silverware Heating Dishwasher Freezer Kettle Toaster Microwave Oven Guest access All areas Other things to note There are 2 bathrooms at the property which are really handy, one on each floor (unusual for a fisherman’s cottage) - the ground floor has a shower, toilet & sink - a bath (with shower), toilet & sink can be found on the 1st floor (upstairs). There's a steep staircase (typical for these type of old fisherman cottages) up to the first floor with two light and good sized bedrooms. There is a travel cot available at the property if requested at the time of booking. The high chair is available too. Due to new restrictions on lighting open fires, guests are no longer permitted to use the fireplace under any circumstances to light a fire. Any such use would invalidate the insurance and as such, is strictly forbidden. Early check-in may be possible upon request, however the house keeper follows a busy schedule so this isn’t always possible. Where it is possible, an additional charge (£15) will apply..
