Charming log cabin by Berkeley Springs (+ hot tub)

Get the most out of wild & wonderful West Virginia in this newly-renovated log cabin 20 minutes from downtown Berkeley Springs. Enjoy the wooded views from the expansive front porch, make s'mores around the stone fire pit, soak in the hot tub in the enclosed sun room, curl up with a book in front of the wood-fired stove, and get cozy in the movie theatre-like loft. You will have access to a private lake and incredible hiking trails minutes from the cabin. The space The Good Egg Cabin has been lovingly renovated to highlight its rustic charm with sleek and modern comforts. We love our time spent here, and we hope you will, too! The cabin is located: - 20 minutes from downtown Berkeley Springs. - 35 miles (54 minutes) from Whitetail Ski Resort. - 4 minutes from a private lake for your use (Sleepy Hollow Lake). - Down the road from The Woods resort & golf course. - Surrounded by a range of incredible hiking trails (we have many recommendations in our home guide). - A little more than one hour from Shenandoah National Park. - 50 minutes from Harper’s Ferry. - Abutting a Wildlife Management Area full of deer, bald eagles, and other wildlife. Of course, we hope you will spend plenty of time enjoying being home, as well! Some of our favorite features of the home include: - The hot tub, enjoyable year-round inside the re-done enclosed sunroom. - Barbecue grill (propane) with outdoor dining set on the back patio. - The stone fire pit with six Adirondack chairs to enjoy during any season! We built this firepit with stone right from the property. - The warm and inviting loft, where two couches and the 75'' Roku TV will provide a cinematic experience. - The upgraded kitchen that includes everything you need to make a full meal (oven, stove-top, small air fryer, mixing bowls, baking sheets, a small blender, whisk, knife set, etc.). - The dining room, connected to the kitchen, which comfortably seats six. - The comfy living room with a wood stove to make cold nights much cozier! We keep plenty of books and board games on hand if you're looking to disconnect. - Redone bathrooms designed for style and comfort. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and a hair dryer are provided. - If you're lucky, you may have visits from deer at night and in the morning. The cabin's bedrooms include: - The Elk Room (second floor): A gorgeous A-frame room with a log-hewn four-poster king bed. Includes a large closet with hangers. A dimmable chandelier and remote-controlled fairy lights add ambiance at all times of year. - The Owl Room (ground floor): This room gets wonderful morning and afternoon light. The queen size bed overlooks the front porch and features owl-themed artwork. There is a large closet with hangers. - The Bear Room (ground floor): A bear-themed room with a cozy double bed and remote-controlled fairy lights. Includes a small closet with hangers. To make your stay as fun and comfortable as possible, please enjoy: - Vintage-style record player/stereo (also plays music from your phone via Bluetooth or aux cord) - A closet of games including Scrabble, Clue, The Resistance, What Do You Meme?, and more. - A selection of DVDs and Blu-Rays Guest access We have installed a garage door with a key-code for easy access, as well as a lock-box with a set of keys as a backup option. The entire cabin and surroundings are at your disposal! You also have access to the small private lake managed by the Sleepy Hollow community. Just down the road, The Woods resort offers golf and spa/salon services à la carte. There are several acres of forest on our property behind the house; you are welcome to walk around and gather already-downed firewood from there, but we recommend sticking to managed trails in the area (see guest book) for hiking. If you are hiking near or during hunting season, please be aware of your visibility; we provide two orange safety vests in the entry closet. Other things to note The cabin has electric heat which can be adjusted by room. There is a desk in the loft that is good for working. Viasat wireless internet covers the property for your online needs. Please note that satellite internet is not conducive to online gaming or some Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), which some workplaces require to log on remotely. In our personal experience we have been able to telework (including video calls) without much issue, but be aware that speeds will be lower than broadband.
