Description

Sarahan is known as the gateway of Kinnaur, it being near the Indo - Tibetan road. Its a small quaint town on the hills above the Satluj river. It is the land of the Bhimakali Temple, originally known as Bhimadevi Temple, dedicated to the mother goddess Bhimakali. presiding deity of the rulers of the former Bushahr State. It is also the home to endangered Himalayan bird Jujurana which means 'the king of birds'.
