Description

This centrally located well equipped duplex is your access point to all the adventures that South Fork has to offer in the San Juan and Rio Grande National Forests. We are located just off Highway 160, where you are a short 18 mile drive to Wolf Creek Ski Area. In the summer walk to the South Fork of the Rio Grande for fly fishing as well as an easy drive to many rivers, lakes and reservoirs. Local coffee, pizza, visitors centers and groceries are all in walking distance from our place. The space Comfortable and simple living and dining areas downstairs with a fully stocked kitchen for your cooking needs. TV equipped with Roku to give you access to any subscription services you'd like to use. Brand new radiant ceiling and upstairs floor heating can be controlled throughout our home. In addition, the fireplace in the living room will be stocked with wood and is available for your use. Washer & Dryer in Unit. Upstairs are three private bedrooms, two full bathrooms (additional half bath downstairs) and a balcony off of the master bedroom. Backyard space is simple, but includes a grill, firepit and an outdoor table for your use. Guest access This home is a stand alone two unit duplex. You will have full access to the side you have rented unless you have made arrangements to rent both sides simultaneously. (Birch Street Retreat is the name of the other listing.) On the day of your reservation we will send you information on how to check in and enter the house. There is a one car garage that will be available for your use and accessible once you check in. Regarding river access: The South Fork of the Rio Grande flows behind the homes in our neighborhood and access is private from those homes unless otherwise noted. To get to walkable public river access from our place we recommend walking down to Rachel's Keep on Keepin on & Crow Bar (5 minute walk, great smoked sage margarita!) where you will see a bridge crossing the South Fork that gives you public access to the river. Please be aware!!! Flows through spring and deep into summer are fast and not suitable for swimming or playing. Other things to note In winter roads will be plowed leading to our place. However, AWD/ 4WD is highly recommended.
