Description
If you're looking for a peaceful & secluded Adelaide Hills retreat we'd love to share with you our beautiful piece of paradise. Nestled on a 20 acre property ('Elouera on Shobbrook') in the heart of SA wine country 'Little Fermoy' is a cosy 2-bed self-contained guest suite located at one end of the property's main farmhouse but with its own private entrance & huge wrap around veranda (no shared facilities) where you can sit, relax & enjoy the property & beautiful views & local wildlife visits. The space 'Little Fermoy' guest suite is ideally suited for 1 couple stays, but can sleep up to 4 family members or close friends. It features 2 large bedrooms (1 King and 1 Queen), a large bathroom, and a cosy combined kitchenette/living/dining space, all of which are centrally heated/cooled. The suite has a vintage country farmhouse feel and is fitted out with everything you could want for a wine-country getaway. Both bedrooms have ducted reverse cycle heating/air conditioning and ceiling fans, wool carpeting and block out blinds, and are spacious and light filled, with plenty of hanging space and beautifully comfortable beds fitted with French flax linen bedding. The French doors off the main bedroom open to a very large private wrap around veranda, which has stunning views of the property and valley beyond. The large heritage style bathroom with plantation shutters has both a deep soaker tub and walk-in rain shower as well as underfloor heating (turned on in winter only), ceiling mounted heat lamps and heated towel racks for year round comfort. The kitchenette is very well equipped, with full size fridge/freezer, microwave, Nespresso coffee maker (with a selection of 'starter' pods), toaster, electric frypan, electric egg cooker, and a portable benchtop induction element (which you can pop back in the drawer when you're not cooking on it), as well as all the crockery and cutlery and glass and tableware you could possibly need. There is also a small electric BBQ located on the veranda. PLEASE NOTE that cooked breakfast supplies are provided for the first morning of your stay only. The cosy living/dining area which is also centrally heated/cooled contains a 3-seater couch, eating places for 4 (2 at the dining table, and 2 on the couch/coffee table), a 32" wall-mounted smart TV and coffee table which doubles as a storage box containing a wide range of board games and books. The extremely large covered veranda which wraps around the entirety of the guest suite adds to the suite's available living spaces - it provides additional casual living spaces which are fitted out with a second (outdoor) dining table and chairs for 4, casual armchairs, lounging furniture, and an outdoor heater for year round comfort. The outdoor living space/veranda spills out onto a very large grassed flat area with a fire pit off to the side - available May-Nov only - and which area has stunning views. The property is not suitable for children or toddlers (although parents with new babies are welcome), for safety reasons. Guest access The property shares just one common wall (specially sound-proofed) with the main farmhouse. When we are home you may see us coming and going off in the distance, and we are happy to engage with you (or not) at your discretion. The guest suite front door is private, and accessed from the guest parking area via its own private footpath. The suite is entirely self-contained, and that section of the veranda which wraps around the guest suite is for guest use only. The large grassed area which is to the south of the guest suite (where the fire pit will be set up from May - mid Nov only) is also entirely private and for guest use only during a stay, and if you're lucky you may get our local kangaroos or koalas dropping by to say hello! Guests are welcome to wander around other parts of the property during your stay (with the exception of the areas adjacent to our dams and private (not for guest use) swimming pool, which are out of bounds for safety reasons. Guests are welcome to use the picnic rug provided & enjoy all that the property has to offer; we would be happy to provide you with a 'mud map' to show you how to get around. Other things to note IMPORTANT. 1. There is a small section of unsealed road leading to the property and the driveway on the property is also unsealed - please message hosts for further details if you have any questions/concerns. 2. Cooked breakfast supplies are provided for the first morning of your stay only. 3. For safety reasons you are not permitted to access the areas immediately adjacent to and including the property's dams and private (not for guest use) swimming pool - these are not available for guest access under any circumstances. 4. The property is not suitable for children or toddlers (although parents with new babies are welcome). 5. No smoking is allowed anywhere on the property, as the property is located in a HIGH BUSH FIRE DANGER zone. 6. On high wind days, and during bush-fire season (mid Nov - end Apr) the fire pit must NOT be used. 7. The property is surrounded by working farms on all sides, so from time to time you will hear distant farming equipment and farm animal sounds. If farm noises are likely to disturb or bother you, then you'd probably feel more comfortable staying at a non-rural property.
