Light, airy, happy upstairs suite is loaded for short or long stays (traveling nurses welcome). It's perfect for working or resting. The twin bed has plenty of blankets and pillows for a great night's sleep. (Air mattress is available for 2nd guest). There's a stocked kitchenette, arts/crafts, books, games. Enjoy the comfort of your space, use shared spaces indoors or out, or explore local attractions—Starved Rock, shops, and more! Laundry service offered at no extra charge. Your space is upstairs and overlooks a large yard and a pool. Private bedroom with new doors and lock, shared kitchenette/landing. The host's adult son must walk through the landing to get to his room and will not bother you. He works from 5pm to 7am most days and sleeps from 8am to 4pm, so you probably won't even see him. Upstairs bedroom and kitchenette; downstairs: shared bathroom, rec room, kitchen; (laundry service provided if desired). Outside: patio, grill, swimming pool. Jennifer is on-site nearly 24/7 and available to help if you need it. Extrovert, introvert? We'll follow your lead. We are a family neighborhood a block from Spring Valley's main street and a short drive from Peru, Starved Rock, and more. There's plenty to do (or just relax and do nothing)! Please park in the small driveway. Some walk or bike; others prefer having a car to get around. You'll want a car if you're going to the state parks or Peru. The 100-year-old house is old and lived in and a work in progress. It does have a smell to it, as old houses do, even though we clean constantly and use deodorizers and essential oils. We have night-shift workers here, and the host runs an online business, so it's pretty quiet inside the house except for when Jennifer's on a Zoom call or the family is playing a game on Thursday evenings. We have a quiet Carolina dog named Suzie who does alert (bark) to let us know someone is near or that Jennifer has a medical issue that needs attending to. For legal reasons, "dangerous animal" is clicked even though she is well behaved. We also have a set of nunchucks and decorative swords, so "weapons on property" is selected, too.
