Description
Get ready to experience a one of kind stay that will take you back in time! This space housed Bob & Betty’s Grocery store starting in 1974, and for 48 years, the store was selling bologna sandwiches and cold pops. Now remodeled into a residential stay, the moment you drive up to the property you will reminisce on the old signs, memorabilia, and pictures covering the walls inside and out. Nestled between two mountains, near Bad Branch Falls, Kingdom Come State Park, and plenty of mountain views! The space This unique place is full of imperfections, crooked walls, creaky floors, lower ceilings, and 48 years’ worth of memories. You will feel like you are spending the night in your own personal country store with the coke and ice cream coolers, board games, and knick knacks located inside. The store is connected to the local post office and still gets daily traffic, so you may get the lucky chance of a local stopping you to ask about Bob & Betty’s and tell you a story or two! Being right by the main road, you will experience some of the hardworking coal mining industry that runs the coal trucks throughout the night. The building has vending machines located at the front outside for the public and your own personal use (bring quarters!!), and with the post office, it might be lively at times. If the activity is not what you want, we provide a noise machine to help cancel out possible traffic. There is plenty of parking outside and the neighbors are very friendly. There is a volleyball net, badminton rackets, and horseshoes if you would like to play games down in the bottom yard. We currently have a side deck attached to the back bedroom that is not accessible at this time (only in case of an emergency). With an old building with lots of history, comes a lot of projects and opportunities! We are excited to share our piece of Partridge with you! Guest access Guests have access to the whole building, parking lot, and yard. Other things to note The water is well water and does have a filter on it. It is safe to use, but sometimes has a smell. We provide a gallon of bottled water for cooking and for the coffee pot. We suggest you bring bottled water for drinking.
