Secret Lodge: shepherds hut with hot tub & sauna

Stay in a luxury shepherds hut in the stunning Surrey Hills, only an hour from London. A perfect couples escape with a beautiful hot tub under the trees and a wood fired sauna experience bookable as an optional extra. We are located near Box Hill so you can enjoy countryside walks with spectacular views and visit some lovely local gastropubs. We are dog friendly for an extra fee. We supply a variety of grazing platters too. The perfect stay for birthdays, anniversaries and special nights away! The space Little Lodge is kitted out like a small boutique hotel room. With a king size bed and an Emma tempur mattress you are guaranteed a good nights sleep! Our fully equipped kitchen has a Nespresso coffee machine, microwave, 2 ring ceramic hob, large butlers sink and a small fridge with ice box. We provide basic condiments, oil, herbs, spices, tea, coffee, sugar, milk sachets and coffee pods plus some extra goodies for you to enjoy! The bathroom has a good size electric shower, hand basin, complimentary vegan, uk made toiletries, his and hers bath robes and because the lodges are off grid and in the woods we have a top of the range eco friendly waterless WC. We also have a gorgeous wood fired hot tub for you to enjoy during your stay. Our hot tub is an authentic outdoor bathing experience, no plastic or electric in sight. Just enjoy the smell of the lovely wood burner and the warmth of the water as you sit amongst the trees and under the stars. We provide robes but we recommend you bring your flip-flops! We will get the hot tub fire started for you. We will leave plenty of firelighters, kindling and logs for you to use in the wood burner. Usually the water should be ready to use by around 4pm. Unlike a lot of other huts, we don’t charge extra for logs or for using the hot tub! We also have a fire-pit which you can use with a grill provided as a bbq, but please do bring your own charcoal. Outside is a lovely woodland garden and a seating area with two wooden lounge chairs and footstools for chilling out by the firepit. We have a pretty dining table on the deck and we even have a gorgeous couples swing seat in a private pergola underneath the trees! New for 2026: we have a beautiful wellness area behind the hut that includes a wood fired barrel sauna, cold plunge pool and a relaxing seating area. You can book a 2 hour session and enjoy the area as a private add on experience for just £20. Hot and cold therapy is known to have great health, skin and mind benefits and makes for a luxury addition to your stay! Guest access Secret Lodge is hidden away in a stunning woodland area surrounded by beautiful historic trees. It is safely fenced for dogs and completely private with views of woodland and looking over neighbouring fields. It is situated on a plot of land adjacent to our property and is beautifully private and hidden away just for our guests to enjoy. Behind Secret Lodge is Little Lodge, our original shepherds hut which is garden facing and has a grass paddock. The two huts face completely opposite directions, are completely private from each other and do not overlook each other in any way. Both huts are available to book together if you'd like to stay with friends! Please note that occasional noise from vehicles and animals may be heard from the neighbours stable yard. You can park in a dedicated parking area and access to Secret Lodge is down a short woodland path. Other things to note DOGS We’re happy to welcome 1 small well behaved dog for an additional fee of £25, our accommodation is not suitable for larger breeds. Please select to include your pet when booking. Our hut gardens are fenced and should be dog secure but if you are bringing a dog please take full responsibility for them when outside. We hope all dog owners will be responsible and stop dogs from sleeping on furniture, digging in the garden, scratching doors, unnecessary barking and not to leave them unattended at any time. If any damage by your dog occurs to the hut or garden additional expenses may be incurred. PLATTERS We can provide delicious sharing platters for you to enjoy during your stay! Date Night Grazing Platter made up of a variety of cheeses, meats and salami, cut veggies, hummus, olives, grapes and a selection of crackers with chutney, for £23 (can be made veggie or vegan) Half and half Sharing Platter made up of cheese and crackers with chutney, hummus, grapes and olives on one side and sweet treats with marshmallows, biscuits, sweets and strawberries on the other, for £23 Breakfast in Bed Platter includes a variety of crumpets/pancakes/pastries/muffins (or similar) provided with jam, honey & butter plus fresh fruit and granola for £18 (can be made without granola but with extra fruit and pastries if preferred) Sweet Treat Platter made up of strawberries, sweets, chocolates, various biscuits and a variety of marshmallows, for £15 If you let me know which you’d like to order when booking, I will send a payment request through Airbnb.
