The Red Cabin

Relax with the whole family at this rustic, historic ranch house with expansive mountain and meadow views. Located on Wyoming Highway 230 between Laramie and Woods Landing, approximately 15 miles west of Laramie. Easy access to UW and Medicine Bow National Forests. Perfect location for access to outdoors adventures in Southeast Wyoming such as: Skiing * Hunting * Fishing * Hiking * Packing * Camping * Snowmobiling * Boating * Horse accommodations available with separate agreement. The space The ground level has an entryway with a half bath, full kitchen, living room, and a master bedroom (includes attached bathroom with commode, shower, and tub). The living room includes a TV, DVD, and Apple Lightning to HDMI adapter to connect your phone or ipad to the television. No live TV services are available. WiFi and internet service are provided. Additional seating includes a 2-person kitchen counter and two chairs at a breakfast table. Upstairs: Open sitting room and two bedrooms. A third room serves as a supply room that is currently not available. Bed sizes: * Ground level, master bedroom: Queen sized bed * Upstairs bedroom #1: Queen sized bed * Upstairs bedroom #2: Full sized bed *Living Room, main floor. There are also two smaller futons (probably full sized) on the second floor. We do not provide bedding for the futons. If you would like to use them, please bring sleeping bags or bedding. Quirks: All old houses have quirks. This home was originally a stage stop for stage coaches traveling between Wyoming and Colorado. It was converted into a home/cabin and added to over time. The largest quirk of this home is that the full bathroom (commode and shower/bathtub) is attached to the master bedroom. This is a potential privacy issue depending on your group. In the future, we will convert the upstairs supply room into another full bathroom. Until then, we want you to know about this unusual aspect. Exterior: The yard includes trees and shrubs, a fire pit (please see house rules), brick walking paths, and two shaded pergolas. A hammock is available in the summertime. Guest access Guests have access to the cabin, including washer/ dryer and surrounding yard. This excludes a supply room on the second floor. All other ranch structures and property may be available by permission only. A tree house can be tempting; however, we have no guarantee of the structural soundness the tree house. Therefore, it is not available for access.
