The space Our house is a unique two storey custom built family home on five acres. The front half of the property is occupied by the home of our brother and his family as well as a couple outbuildings/workshops. Our house is nestled privately into the back half of the acreage, out of view from others and surrounded by forest. It is very private. You will have access to five bedrooms: - the upstairs main bedroom with king size bed (Endy mattress) - the upstairs second bedroom with a queen bed + double loft bed - a small bedroom off the main bedroom which has a queen bed - the main floor den/bedroom with a California king sized bed (Endy mattress) - the main floor kid’s room with a loft double bed. All beds have 100% cotton and/or bamboo linens. All linens *including duvet covers* are changed between guests. Basked in natural light, the living space includes polished concrete floors, a living room with full-size piano, a full kitchen with propane stove/oven and everything you need to cook with including: espresso maker, sandwich maker, waffle maker, popcorn maker, tortilla press, hand mixer, Vitamix, kettle, toaster, a selection of knives, utensils, glassware, martini shaker, many serving dishes and platters and both porcelain dishes as well as plastic dishes/cups for outdoor dining and kids. You’ll be able to host everything from a casual BBQ to an upscale dinner here! There are three bathrooms in the house. The main floor bathroom has a double walk-in shower, the second floor bathroom has a claw foot tub and the main bedroom bath has a double walk-in shower as well as a soaker tub. You will find lots of little extras in the house, such as a printer to use should you need one, yoga mats and light weights, many books for all ages and a good selection of board games. The house will comfortably accommodate two families or a group of 8-12, depending on the sleeping arrangement that is comfortable for your group. There is a pack n’ play portable playpen/crib available (byo linens). The house is also equipped with two baby gates. The well-insulated house (ICF home) and concrete floors throughout keep the house at a cool temperature throughout summer, even during a heat wave. The TV is located in the main floor bedroom/den and is equipped with streaming services. The house and patio have a Sonos speaker system. The house has a laundry room. The living space extends outside with a 700 sq ft covered patio with couches, outdoor dining area and hot tub. There is a also a full size BBQ and a beer fridge. The yard has been designed to be a haven for families. Sit back and relax while the kids keep entertained for hours! There is a large natural swimming pool with concrete and dock surround. The pool is fully fenced, 7 ft deep and shallow on both ends, it is chlorinated. There are tiered waterfalls cascading feeding until the pool and you are surrounded by gardens. Deck chairs and patio umbrellas provide the shade and comfort you need. There is plenty of green space for playing games and sports including a disc golf setup. Kids (and adults!) can enjoy the pirate-style play structure with net and a swing and the full size trampoline with enclosure. There are two sand pits for playing in as well as a fenced frog pond with lots of frog action. There is a platform playhouse with ladder access in the woods for older kids to explore. There are a full-size, medium size and a mini basket ball hoop in with concrete play zone off of the parking area. The house has a Tesla charger. The neighbour hood is a quiet residential loop on the Courtenay/Merville border. The traffic is slow-going and ideal for biking and walking. To sum it up- this is a property that will meet all your needs, and it’s quite possible… you won’t want to leave! Guest access You have access to the house and surrounding yard which is the entire back half of the property. Other things to note Please familiarize yourself with the bed layout as some beds are doubles and may not be suitable for two adults. This is our family home and we still have a few personal effects in the home. We ask that you treat our home with care. This is a pet-friendly property and although the house is thoroughly cleaned between guests, our house wouldn’t be ideal for someone with severe animal allergies.
