Description

An epic location at the end of a private road is a fully self-contained studio designed by renowned Tasmanian architects Circa Morris-Nunn . Beautiful and wild, historic and sensitive to its surrounds. The Studio is edged by Pittwater Estuary and the Coal River. A remote hideaway just 30 mins from Hobart and 15 mins to Richmond and Coal River wineries and restaurants.. Relax and unwind on your own private beach. Enjoy the art, some of which has been made in the studio itself. The space The studio is a completely self-contained building 250m from the main house offering complete privacy. It has a large living, dining area with a fully appointed kitchen, equipped with quality electrical appliances and all the staples for cooking. A bottle of Tasmanian sparkling awaits guests staying three nights or longer. On the mezzanine is a seductively comfortable roomy bedroom with an office and lounge area. The Koala bed is nestled in a nook in the wall with overhead lights and extra-large pillows perfect for reading. Sleep long and late, there is no one around to disturb you. Leading from the bedroom is a huge deck which faces the Coal River where you can dine out or just sit and watch the oyster boats pass by on their way to tend to the oyster hatcheries. Every room faces the water giving you year round opportunities to spot the seals and dolphins who often swim by. Also keep an eye out for the White Bellied Sea- Eagles who nest nearby. It is a light filled building and the huge windows are protected by blinds if needed. The immersion in nature means that at times it is entirely tranquil but at times winds buffer the property but they are smugly met because the design, the heavily insulated paneled walls and double glazed windows mean that no matter how hard the wind knocks it can’t get in. During the day there are many local attractions but if you decide to stay you could do a spot of fishing from the rocks or play Boulle or croquet on the large grassed area in front of the property. At sunset you will often see the soft faced Bennett’s Wallabies and Pademelons come out to feed. When the nights get cold you can relax by the slow combustion log stove watching the fire slowly dance and the light fade over the water. At The Studio every detail has been considered for your aesthetic pleasure, comfort and entertainment. There is a quality coffee machine, a selection of board games and puzzles, reverse cycle air-conditioning, a barbeque, satellite wifi, quality linen, large screen TV with headphones, a luxury leather reclining sofa, a well-stocked library of Tasmanian books, binoculars, umbrella and raincoats. No matter where you turn the sense of history is seeped into the rocks and waters and the earth. The Studio is a memorable place; it is a secluded escape where nature and history is intertwined with art, comfort and contemporary charm. Our property proudly uses planet-friendly products. Guest access The Studio is a stand-alone building in its own very private location 250 metres past the main house. All parts of The Studio and its surrounds are yours to enjoy. Other things to note The remote exposed location at the bottom end of The Coal River Valley means that one day you will experience calm tranquility and on another bracing winds and white topped waters. All part of the exhilarating nature based experience. Registration Details Exempt: This listing falls under the 'home sharing' exemption
