Treat yourself to a slice of New Zealand's rural life and check into The Good Shepherds Hut, an historic shepherds' dwelling at Simons Hill Station that's been lovingly restored into a cosy, relaxing accommodation space while still retaining its rustic charm and rural atmosphere. Simons Hill offers a deeper darker night sky experience within Mackenzie's famous Dark Sky Reserve. The space As well as this hut we also have a second hut available on our property called 'Concertina Charlie's Hut' Guest access The Good Shepherds Hut is on Simons Hill Station, a family-owned, working station, farming fine-wool merino sheep and beef. This is a working farm so be prepared for the sounds and smells of nature and animals and be prepared to follow all instructions around machinery and roads. The farm is located half-way between Lake Tekapo and Twizel townships. The closest shops are 29km away and are closed by 8pm at night.
