Local legends whisper of buried treasures hidden beneath the islands sandy shores. Come get Salty! The space The Salty Mermaid is a beautiful place to unwind relax and embrace the island salt life. We are a bridgeless barrier island, only accessible by boat, you cannot drive your car to the island, but easily accessed by boat taxi. See below for details. With 3 bedrooms ( 2 bedrooms with new queen size MLILY memory foam mattresses, a set of bunk beds) all with down duvet comforters to keep you cozy. Large new Samsung smart TV’s in all the bedrooms, new 75 inch smart TV in living room, ready for your streaming entertainment, great dependable connectivity with Starlink Wifi (included). Two full bathrooms, with a private outdoor shower on the lower deck. Fully stocked kitchen with a ninja foodi smart air fryer, open concept with bar stools surrounding the kitchen island. A dining room table that seats 6 guests. Coffee and tea bar with cuisinart Grind & Brew coffee machine ( bring your favorite coffee beans or k cups) Outside has a large upper deck with a new Weber BBQ grill, ready to go with propane (provided). Patio table for 4 guests. Downstairs has a utility room available for your use, with washer and dryer, beach chairs and umbrellas. Two seating areas with patio furniture to lounge about. Dart board for outdoor entertainment. Large deck for sunbathing, yoga, meditation, or reading your favorite book. Outside enjoy the large fire circle surrounded by Adirondack chairs. Dig your toes into the sand, embrace the beautiful island days and nights while listening to the birds swirling above and the waves of the ocean crashing on the beach. Enjoy long walks, on the sandy shores along the Gulf of Mexico, searching for sharks teeth and ocean treasures. Sun drenched lazy days recharging from the hectic mundane stresses of the outside world. This is true paradise, a time for peace and reflection. Guest access The entire beach house and property is available for your enjoyment. As with most homes on the island, the living quarters are built on pilings, so there are steps to climb, living amongst the tree tops, feels like a treehouse. Other things to note Little Gasparilla Island is a private barrier island neighboring Boca Grande on the Gulf of Mexico, ONLY ACCESSIBLE BY BOAT. You must leave your car on the mainland. PARKING and ARRIVAL Eldreds Marina located 6301 Boca Grande Causeway, Placida, Florida, 33946 ( the small marina is right before the toll booth to Boca grande). You can park your car at Eldreds Marina, then enter the little bait shop to obtain a parking pass (approximately $8.00 per day), place pass on the dash of your vehicle. Then either launch your boat or you can jump on Pirates water taxi— see below for details. (you need a reservation) WATER TAXI: Please read carefully! Water taxi service is provided by Pirates Water Taxi with either Emmett or Bill as your captain. You must reserve well before your arrival date to make arrangements for your arrival and departure. The water taxi is available every day 8:30am - 5:00pm, but will run earlier or later for additional fees. It is best to contact them 2 weeks in advance, especially if you need to travel very early, after dark, or on holidays. The average cost for the water taxi is $25.00 for 2 people each way (subject to change). Make sure you tell the captain that you are going to Dock #75 (Gaspars hideaway). If your bringing your own boat, we have guest parking at Gaspars Hideaway, dock number 78 and 79. Oh and bring a couple of beach wagons to tote all your goodies to the beach house, it is a short stroll from the dock. IT IS IMPERATIVE TO RESERVE THE WATER TAXI IN ADVANCE! We have a sensitive septic system, everything is a little special and delicate on the island. Please do not flush paper towels, feminine products, diapers, or sanitary wipes down toilet. We have left a bucket full of water to dunk your sandy toes prior to going upstairs into the house. We would appreciate all flip flops, sandals and shoes be left outside.
