The Boathouse - “Oceanfront” (Kayaks & Firepit)

Welcome to The Boathouse! Conveniently located in the Municipality of Barrington, known as the Lobster Capital of Canada. Unwind at this uniquely built, rustic cabin situated next to the ocean. At high tide, you will wake up to the sound of waves splashing beneath your window. Enjoy the beautiful views from the outside decks or take a kayak and explore. The wildlife is all around. When night falls sit back and relax at the fire pit as you look out on the ocean. Enjoy your stay! The space The Boathouse was originally built by the host’s husband to have a tranquil escape with ocean views just across the road from their home. He, being a fisherman of 40+ years, uniquely built the boathouse using a Lobster Car (wooden crate to store lobsters underwater), and driftwood. The Boathouse has recently been renovated and winterized, but the rustic charm remains. The bathroom, being a separate building, just steps from the Boathouse, was newly built summer of 2023. This 250 sq ft cabin is fully furnished, open concept, with the necessities needed to feel at home. It has 1 Double bed located next to a Bay window to give you spectacular views. There is also a Futon Sofa bed that can be pulled out to accommodate additional guests. This space is ideal for 2-3 adults. The kitchen is equipped with a full size fridge and freezer, air fryer, electric fryer, portable hot plate, microwave, toaster, blender, Keurig (Several coffee pods included, with sugar and creamers), dishware, silverware and other necessities needed to help around the kitchen. Grab a stool and sit next to the coffee bar for your morning coffee to enjoy the views or have a seat at the handmade driftwood table (seats two) to have your lunch. A water cooler is also provided for drinking water, but the tap water may be used for everything else. The newly built Bathroom is located in a separate structure, just steps away from The Boathouse. This 100 sq ft bathroom is fully equipped with all the necessities (shower, sink, toilet, towels, facecloths, shampoo, hand soap, hairdryer, toilet paper). Also, check out the craft corner, if you’re wanting a souvenir to take home. Outside, you will find several seating areas to take in the ocean views. There is a small deck located at the entrance of the Boathouse, where you can watch the tide rolling in. On the opposite side of the cabin you will find a small patio equipped with seating and a BBQ to use at your convenience. Keeping with the Nautical theme- you will find a wooden lobster pot for use as your table. Just off the patio there is a fire pit, wood not provided- but can be purchased by the bundle- just contact host. Get out and explore: Go dip your toes in the water, or there are two Kayaks available for your use (lifejackets are also provided in various sizes). You will generally get to see some wildlife on your way. You will also never get lost at nighttime, because The Boathouse has a small lighthouse on the property with a functioning light to guide your way.
