Basecamp is a newly remodeled farmhouse just 15 minutes from Winston Salem & 25 minutes from Pilot Mt/Hanging Rock State Parks. Enjoy the country feel, while being close enough to fully enjoy hiking, mountain biking, kayaking , climbing, and many other activities. It is the ideal place to unwind after a day full of adventures, with a dip in the pool, disc-golf, or smores by the fire pit. To help set expectations and ensure a great experience, please read these quick notes about our property: 🏠 Historic Charm Our home is a 60-year-old farmhouse with creaky floors, vintage quirks, and lots of character. It’s not brand new — and we like it that way! 🌾 Rural & Remote Located in the countryside, our home offers peace and quiet — but also spotty WiFi. Great for unplugging, not ideal for remote work or streaming. 🚽 Septic System We’re on a septic system, so only flush toilet paper. Wipes, paper towels, or anything else can cause serious backups and damage. 🧹 Cleaning & Lawn Care We are limited to one local provider for cleaning and one for lawn services. The home is cleaned and maintained between guests, but minor imperfections may exist. 🏊 Pool Maintenance The pool is cleaned weekly, but it’s open to nature — algae or debris may appear, especially after rain or heat. 🐾 Dog-Friendly We allow dogs! Please note: dog hair may be present, even after cleaning. 🍔 Grill Use and Games We offer a gas and a charcoal grill. Unfortunately our providers will not maintain them. Guests are responsible for cleaning them. We provide two propane tanks filled twice a year, but can’t guarantee they’ll be full when you arrive. We try to provide everything needed for the games and pool and replace items yearly. However, guest use may mean things aren’t in perfect condition. We would love to host you at this beautiful oasis but if you are looking for hotel/resort conditions/amenities this may not be the place for you.
