Description
**NEW** We're excited to introduce our Scout Mountain getaway! Located minutes from Cashiers, Highlands & beautiful Lake Glenville, it's secluded & accessible. At 4000' elevation, this ground floor walkout 1 bdrm studio has a private patio, porch swing & rockers, as well as a cozy gas stove, coffee bar & brand new 55" smart TV. Perched amidst the trees, it's close to the best the plateau has to offer in terms of activities, food, & even shopping (for those so inclined : - ). Thanks! The space This is a separate, walkout studio apartment on the bottom floor of our 3 floor mountain home. It has a dedicated private entrance and parking, a queen bed, cot and futon sofa, as well as a full living room and bathroom (bath/shower combo). There is a nice coffee bar with sink, mini-fridge, Keurig, and microwave. It does not have a full kitchen. My girls and I will be occasionally upstairs. Guest access The space dedicated and secured with a nice private patio. The driveway is gravel as is a portion of the private road that accesses our 4 acres. The drive in is a bit steep in a couple spots but does not require 4-wheel drive. There is a lock-box with key, and access should be quite easy. If you can avoid it, I would not necessarily recommend arriving for the first time late at night just because we are in the mountains and it can be dark. The home has exterior lighting, of course, but it is not visible from the road. Our place has direct access up from the Franklin, Sylva, or Cullowhee sides of the mountains. If you are coming from the Atlanta area, I think you'll drive through Highlands; if coming from Greenville/Asheville/Hendersonville, I believe you'll go through Cashiers. I split my time there, and I will be available 24/7 by cell if you have any questions or issues at all. Other things to note We are 20 mins from downtown Cashiers, ~25 mins from the cross-roads in Highlands, and less than 10 mins to the public beach and pier at Lake Glenville. If you have canoes, kayaks or SUP, bring them! You can also rent pontoon boats on Lake Glenville. Waterfalls, hikes, Whiteside Mountain and the Cashiers Sliding Rock are all close, and if you're especially outdoors-oriented, Panthertown State Park is also nearby. We're about an hour above Brevard, so Pisgah and Dupont State Park are easy to get to. Asheville is about ~90 mins as is Gatlinburg if you're looking for a day trip to either spot. However, the Highlands/Cashiers area has more than enough to enjoy, and I'll be happy to make local restaurant suggestions! For the shopping-minded, both Cashiers and Highlands are known for their galleries and high-end boutiques. Thanks so much, and please let me know if there is anything we can do to improve your experience and make your stay more enjoyable. Blessings, Cole
