The Sunlake Hideaway

A perfect getaway spot to soak in the tranquil living of North Tenmile Lake paired with the come-as-you-are lifestyle of Oregon's Central Coast! Enjoy beautiful lake views from the bright and airy sunroom, walk down to the lake and watch the nesting eagles soar overhead, cozy-up with a good book while listening to the sound of bullfrogs. Come and find what you're looking for out here at the Sunlake Hideaway; nature and tranquility abound! Lake access, pet friendly :) The space You will have the full daylight-basement living space to yourself to enjoy. This includes the bedroom with an attached sunroom (great views!), full bathroom with double sinks, the living room space with desk workspace and the kitchen. The space is accessible via private guest entrance located in the garage, there is an access door into the entryway as well as the bedroom. The garage contains a fitness area and gym equipment, this is a shared space and guests are welcome to use it! Please note that the kitchen does *not* have a traditional range (stove with burners and oven), however, it does have a Nuwave Pro Plus portable induction oven and an electric double burner. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooking supplies (cookware, tableware, utensils, etc.) and well-stocked with cooking equipment including a drip coffee maker, air-fryer, toaster, microwave, Magic Bullet blender, electric double burner and portable induction oven. There is a mini-fridge, water cooler and table with seating for three. Your room has a queen-sized bed with a memory foam topper and several pillow options for optimum comfort. The sunroom connects into the bedroom and provides a bright and breezy (if you open the windows!) sitting area, it acts as a lovely extension of the bedroom space. There is a closet located in the bedroom with hangers and plenty of extra blankets if desired, and pet covers if you're traveling with furry companions. In-wall heating unit keeps things toasty during chilly stays. The bedroom is accessible through the bathroom or through the direct access door in the garage. The bathroom has a toilet, a shower, and a double sink with granite counters. We provide washcloths, towels (extras if needed!) and hand-soap, as well as Alba body-soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion. The living room has a 50in HD TV with a connected RoKu device that can be used to access your streaming accounts. The couch in the living room converts to a bed and would be most comfortable for one person or two smaller folks. Extra bedding and pillows are provided! There is a remote controlled electric fireplace and large floor lamp so you'll never have to leave the couch! ;) Please note that there are no windows in the kitchen, the living room has a large window that opens into the garage which brings in natural light. The bedroom/sunroom has numerous windows and is full of natural light! There are also a few different levels to the house, the bathroom is raised one step up above the bedroom and entryway, and there are five steps up/down from the entryway to the living room and kitchen. The yard generally has a lot of wildlife activity, if you watch out the window long enough, you will likely see some friendly neighborhood wildlife pass by! The deer are exceptionally friendly, so don't be surprised if you see them waving hello in the yard. We are pollinator friendly, the flowered areas are a host to many beautiful bees and butterflies. Guest access Feel free to wander around the property and enjoy the yard space! We ask that you please do not enter the fenced in area (organic food garden) without prior approval. We're happy to give little garden tours and share the bounty for cooking during your stay when crops are in season. There is a shared community lot with lake access (no boat ramp, but small vessels/watercrafts that can be carried in are fine!) just a five minute walk down the road with a beautiful park-like setting. You are welcome to use the picnic table, swim or hang out in that space. Please be respectful of neighbors by keeping noise limited after 8pm or sunset (whichever is later). No fires permitted at this time. We are pet friendly, pups are welcome to roam the property *if* they are comfortable with new people and pets/animals as our dogs may be enjoying outside time as well. If one of our guests is a reactive dog, please let us know beforehand so we can make appropriate accommodations. We kindly ask that guests do not enter the carport or access the upper deck and second/main floor spaces as we reside there. The gym area located in the garage near to the guest entrance is shared space and equipment. Please feel welcome to safely use these items. Other things to note We are located 15-20min outside of Lakeside, which is where you will find the nearest groceries and restaurants. The drive our to the property includes a very well-maintained paved winding road (North Lake Road) up until the final 2.5 miles until the house. The last 2.5 mile stretch is on gravel roads (similar to forest service roads), they’re relatively well-maintained but they're quite curvy and narrow at spots. Service out here is very spotty, we find that depending on your carrier, it works well enough to send texts or make a call in certain parts of the space or yard. We have wifi that is fast and reliable 95% of the time. Generally, if there is an outage, we are notified immediately and it is resolved quickly. Please note that if there is a widespread outage or a an issue due to natural hazards (downed trees or similar), it is out of our control and there is no back up wifi option.
