Discover all the Jungfrau region has to offer as you make yourself at home in this stylish, spacious, and cozy ground floor apartment, perfectly situated at the heart of it all. The space Welcome to our cozy ground floor apartment in the heart of the town! Our aim is to share a warm and inviting home with travellers from around the globe. Housed in an old traditional building where we once lived ourselves, this spacious apartment is perfect for creating beautiful memories with friends and family thanks to its layout. Big common area of the kitchen and living room and 2 big bedrooms. In the event of six guests booking, space may become a bit tighter, but our apartment remains a budget-friendly option for large families compared to hotel rates. Enjoy the convenience of a central location and experience living among locals during your stay. Accessing the apartment is easy, with just 2-3 steps to climb, and a designated free parking spot right outside ensures a hassle-free experience throughout your visit. BEDROOMS AND BEDS First Bedroom: Bed: Enjoy the comfort of a cozy bed measuring 160x200cm/63"x79". Sofa Bed: The versatile blue couch you see on our photos can be converted into an additional sleeping space for one person. The sofa bed will be prepared when 5 people have booked. It measures 80x190cm/31"x74". Second Bedroom: Bed: Relax in a spacious bed measuring 180x200cm/71x79 inches. Additionally this bedroom has a small office setup. Foldable Bed: A foldable bed for one person is available, which can be placed in either the second bedroom or in the entrance area. This bed will be prepared when 6 guests book the apartment. It measures 90x2000cm/35"x78". BEDDING DETAILS Pillows: Each large bed is equipped with two big pillows measuring 60x100cm/23"x39, while the single beds have a smaller pillow measuring 65x65cm/25"x25. We provide one pillow per guest. If you wish to have a small pillow instead of a big one, or if you need more than one pillow to sleep comfortably, please let us know in advance. Duvets: For each guest we provide a separate duvet blanket with a duvet cover measuring 160x210cm/62"x82". Both bedrooms feature medium to firm mattresses ensuring a restful night's sleep. NOTE (2 GUESTS BOOKING) If only two guests book, one bedroom will be fully prepared, and the second bedroom will only have a fresh bedsheet on the mattress. This setup allows guests to choose their preferred sleeping arrangements, whether together or separately. They can simply transfer one pillow and one blanket to the other bedroom as needed. NOTE (4 GUESTS BOOKING) If 4 guests book we will always have the 2 double beds prepared. If you are 4 guests that wish to sleep separately please let us know in advance. We can prepare the single sofa bed or the foldable bed with a fresh mattress protection and a fresh bedsheet for an additional 20chf. ENTRANCE Our spacious entrance area is designed to accommodate large groups, providing ample space for storing jackets and shoes. This helps keep the rest of the apartment tidy and clutter-free. KITCHEN & LIVING ROOM Experience the seamless connection between our kitchen and living room, providing an ideal space for gatherings with friends and family. Whether you're enjoying delicious meals, laughter-filled movie nights, or memorable game sessions, this area is perfect for creating lasting memories. The vintage piano from Bern adds a charming touch (because of its age not all keys are tuned to perfection), perfect for music enthusiasts. Plus, our inviting and spacious couch ensures maximum comfort as you relax and unwind. For entertainment, we offer a 55" Samsung TV with a Wi-Fi connection and access to Netflix. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need for quick and enjoyable meals, including cutlery, pots and pans, plates and glasses, a fridge with a freezer, oven, and induction stove (with room for 4 pots at a time). Additionally, we provide a Delonghi coffee machine, a kettle, microwave, dishwasher and more. Please note that our microwave is not always plugged in. When plugging it in please check that you do not unplug the fridge. BATHROOM While our bathroom may be on the smaller side, it offers a cozy and functional space. You'll find a bathtub with glass protection (not anymore in perfect condition), along with complimentary shampoo, shower gel, and a hair dryer for your convenience. One aspect to note is that the bathtub drain operates at a slightly slower pace compared to modern systems. To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all, we kindly request that after each shower, guests take a moment to collect any hair that may have accumulated and dispose of it appropriately. This simple practice will help maintain the optimal functioning of the drain and prevent any potential inconveniences during your stay. Shower gel and shampoo are generously provided as well as two towels per guest. A big towel 70x140 cm/27x55 inches and a smaller towel 50x100 cm/19x39 inches. Following European and Swiss standards we provide upon request a free change of towels during longer stays. Kindly note that a change of towels can be requested only by guests staying for at least 5 nights. OUTDOOR AREA Our apartment offers two separate outdoor spaces for your enjoyment. One is conveniently located at the front and can be easily accessed from bedroom no.1. It includes a spacious table and chairs, ideal for dining outdoors on a sunny day. The second outdoor area, accessed through the living room, offers occasional glimpses of paragliders soaring above Harder Kulm, accompanied by the thrilling sounds of their excited (or scared?) voices. While it may not offer a complete view, it adds a touch of excitement and wonder to your outdoor experience. We like to joke that in Interlaken we don’t wake up to the sound of birds but to “woooohooooos” from excited paragliders. HEATING SYSTEM The house is heated by a central heating system through radiators. They work only during the cold months of the year. It can be that if you arrive during the first cold days of the year that the heating system has not yet been turned on. The heating is adjustable and can be controlled from the side. Number 5 is the highest setting. The room temperature won’t heat up above 20-22 degrees Celsius. This is the standard in Switzerland. For example if it’s a warm day outside it’s very likely that the radiators feel cold. If the apartment has already reached this standard temperature the heaters might also feel cold even if it's winter. We provide one additional electric heater, which can be placed in any room you wish. Please keep an eye on it so it does not overheat. COOLING SYSTEM In this region of Switzerland, air conditioners are not commonly found in homes. The way locals ensure that our homes remain pleasantly cool during the warmest days is by closing the windows, drawing all curtains, and even shutting exterior window shutters while we are out exploring or working during the day. These proactive measures prevent the homes from heating up excessively. As nightfall brings cooler temperatures, we open the windows to welcome some fresh air. As the apartment is situated on the ground floor, it generally tends to remain pleasantly cool during the warm months. Inside the apartment, you will also find 2 strong standing fans, which can be used to enhance airflow and create a pleasant breeze.. DECORATION Step into the inviting ambiance of our thoughtfully decorated apartment. Rich, deep colors, locally sourced real wood, and the touch of velvet textiles create a cozy atmosphere throughout. Many of the furniture pieces and details have been lovingly handcrafted by us, each with its own unique or funny story. If you're curious about the origins and inspiration behind our decor, feel free to inquire and we'll gladly share the tales. Our wish is for this space to truly feel like a cozy home, a place that you eagerly return to after a long day of adventure, where your first glimpse brings a smile to your face, and where fond memories linger long after your departure. LAUNDRY CORNER Just next to your apartment, visible from your kitchen window, is a laundry corner stocked with professional washing and drying machines. The 2 machines are yours to use for free, and we've got detergent covered. You'll be sharing these machines with one other apartment. Additionally when you step out of bedroom number 1, you'll spot a drying rack for your clothes. Feel free to set it up indoors or outside in your apartment's outdoor area when the weather's warm enough. In the laundry corner you will see clear rules and instructions hanging on the walls. We kindly ask that you read these guidelines carefully and follow them to ensure a pleasant and responsible stay. Guest access The apartment is located on the ground floor. There is no staircase to go up, only 2-3 steps. Other things to note 1. We encourage you to write us a message in case you have any questions or problems. We do care for you to have a beautiful time in Interlaken and would be happy to help you with any reasonable requests! 2. Sometimes an important main ingredient/amenity might be missing from our apartment or our kitchen like olive oil, vinegar or coffee capsules. If that is the case for you we would be happy to pay for that product as long as you leave it after your stay again in the apartment and send us a photo of the bill. If we forgot to replace something and it's missing like the toaster etc please remind us so we can find a solution. 3. Interlaken is a small town completely surrounded by nature and in turn many living organisms. For that reason we would ask you to keep in mind that not all our windows have mosquito nets and if you desire to fill the apartment with fresh air, open only the windows that do have a mosquito net. In this way you can avoid any bees, mosquitos and other insects. 4. Our TV only has Netflix and YouTube. 5. Don’t forget to bring with you an adapter when traveling. We used to always provide our guests with adapters ourselves but sadly no matter how many we got they all disappeared. 6. We would appreciate it so much if you could let us know in case you spot any damage from previous guests or cause by accident damage yourself. This is something than can happen to anyone and transparency can prove truly helpful in such moments. POTENTIAL DRAWBACKS: In the spirit of transparency, we would like to address a few points that some guests may consider as potential drawbacks. We would like to provide you with all the necessary information, allowing you to make an informed decision about your stay with us. - Our apartment is located within an older charming house, and as a result, the construction technics use also reflect their age. One aspect to note is that the bathtub drain operates at a slightly slower pace compared to modern systems. To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all, we kindly request that after each shower, guests take a moment to collect any hair that may have accumulated and dispose of it appropriately. This simple practice will help maintain the optimal functioning of the drain and prevent any potential inconveniences during your stay. - Please be aware that we are situated in close proximity to a hotel. Occasionally, during the day, there might be some noise from delivery trucks bringing goods to the hotel. While this is not usually a frequent occurrence, we want to ensure that you are aware of the possibility. Since its a ground floor apartment it is in general very likely that you occasionally hear car parking outside. - Our heating system relies on radiators, which may produce (very rarely) some noise.
