New-Sept 23 The Rise is exclusive-use accommodation for two, located on private land within Aoraki Mackenzie Dark Sky Reserve, where a tranquil aesthetic creates an immersive experience; a grounding into the rugged surroundings of our alpine region. Here, we honour the slow unfolding of time and embrace the imperfections of nature, seeing beauty in the raw, unfiltered world around us. Offering a quiet take on luxury, our cabin sits humbly beneath the vast Ben Ohau range where you’ll experience nature’s beautiful extremes whilst cocooned from the Southern elements in wabi-sabi-inspired comfort. Equal parts raw and refined, we’ve created cohesion with the exterior world through natural materials, earthy tones and textures, and spaces that unify the outside with the in. Other things to note What to expect There’s something exciting about the unpredictability of our alpine location; the different extremes of weather add to its charm. While our cabin is designed to keep you comfortable any time of the year, to ensure you get the most out of your stay, it does pay to be prepared for different temperatures. Our summer months are typically hot and dry and perfect for dips in the lake, while snow and frost may settle here over the cold winter months, often bringing the sparkling magic of a hoar frost.
