Description

Tucked in a little Cove is our private cabin studio +private bath. It's 5 min to TOWN and the famous AERIAL TRAM; 15 min to DWTWN. A mini glamping destination nestled at the edge of the San Jacinto Mts. The surroundings feel as though you're tenting at a peaceful campground or a dusty ol’ west ranch mountain community. Not for the fancy : it's made for BUDGET travelers, students and REI hikers. This studio is an a Mobile-RV park. Access to our popular PS communal home is included. The space * Before requesting your stay, please read this listing description, location, and our reviews. We are a BUDGET friendly Airbnb. This means we cater to college students, artists, hikers, Pet-Friendly people, VAN life travelers and adventure seekers who are not looking to spend hundreds on cleaning fees. We are usually about 90% cheaper than most of the Airbnbs in this area and this market. It's not GLAM, but you'll sleep (hopefully) comfortably. Welcome to the Old West of Palm Springs - a little dusty, a little windy (at-times) and a very secluded mountain home community of people living quietly and peacefully at the edge of the Palm Springs mountains. This area is a former Old West ranch (now called Lazy C Ranch) which was partially divided in the 1960's to accommodate the thriving mobile home trailer communities of desert dwellers. It definitely has the Joshua Tree desert vibes here. In the mornings you can listen to the faint sounds of horses & roosters from the ranch across the street. This modern-casita suite is part of an attached NEWLY remodeled mobile home from the 1960's with its own private entrance. It is located in the San Gorgonio Pass area where high winds can (occasionally) create its own music of enchantment. This casita is connected and affiliated with Jess’s passion and LOVE for the restoration of 1950's and 1960's vintage trailer homes. As such, your reservation will also give you access to Jess’s mini vintage trailer park and main communal home dubbed the Freedom House (It is currently the #1 community home in all of Palm Springs and the pics are included in half of this listing). We've been Super-hosting for more than 10 years. Please read our 900 guests (mostly) 5 STAR REVIEWS about how much AIRBNB guests have enjoyed our vintage trailer park vibe success and our community space to experience the true VINTAGE life of the 1960's - with some modern upgrades of course. Everyone is welcome and of course we’re HUMAN + LGBTQ friendly. This little tiny Casita located 5-min from downtown Palm Springs and 5-min from our RETRO home in Palm Springs. Our casita has MODERN upgrades and is in a no-glam mobile home park community where the scenery of the mountains and its local charm is energetically AWESOME for travelers who want to hit Joshua Tree, hike and are on a budget. Please do NOT book this place if you're looking for the posh and glitz. Did you know Palm Springs was the “jeweled showcase of mobile living” ? Palm Springs had captured the simplified luxury and informal elegance of this latest American phenomenon and this mountain home community was part of that era. So, how did people live back in the 1960’s in these mobile homes? Well, come check it out! This is what Airbnb is all about : discovering NEW places and neighborhoods. We’re honest in saying this is not the glam mobile home park of the elite — YET, it’s the only mountain-mobile home park community that is safe, quiet and allows Airbnb rentals. It’s a unique experience for sure. You’ll see the pics — basic casita with AC, WIFI, and a queen bed/mattress and YES for budget travelers who love saving money and even sleeping on couches . Bathroom, electricity, kitchen, small fridge, and a bed is all you need to go out and enjoy the town! With this booking you will also have access to our main home and Jess’s vintage trailer park 5 min away, which has all the perks (outdoor shower, and community meals and gatherings — etc). Look at our main listing for more details. This is a private space and you will find SOME construction items in the exterior (we are in the process of painting our mobile home and putting in an outdoor space in the future ; aiming for a BLACK exterior ). Prior to booking please know this area is known as the Windy Cove area (hence) it can get WINDY from time to time. It’s also on the footsteps of the Palm Springs mountain so during Spring season the mountains are plush and green AND during the summer it’s a dry beautiful brown mountain vibe scenery. There is a mini-market and gas station within walking distance. No public transportation in this area. Guest access Please be respectful of neighbors and this mountain home community.
