Experience the Near North on this private 3 acre island - Dad's Rest Island. You will be spellbound by spectacular sunsets. Activities include paddleboard, kayaks, canoe, games. Relax at the fire table, count shooting stars, birdwatch, stroll along the sun-dappled forest trail. Fishing is memorable - walleye, musky, pike, bass, perch. The cottage is newly renovated. There are four tranquil bedrooms (3 queen beds, 1 double), woodstove, modern kitchen, Bell & Rogers internet. BOAT ACCESS ONLY. The space The newly renovated 2000 square foot cottage is bright and airy. It is a comfortable place to relax any time of day or night. A bright kitchen with a huge quartz-topped island will greet you when you enter the cottage. A coffee bar with its own sink will help to kickstart your mornings. The kitchen flows into the great room, which is complete with a modern wood-burning woodstove, comfy seating, and farmhouse globe-style chandeliers. Don’t forget to take a selfie in front of the stag wall mural! Come together for meals in the glamorous dining room, which is connected to the intimate conversation nook. The front of the cottage is a wall of sliding glass doors – keep them open and you will enjoy the lake breeze. Here you will find the games / puzzle table, yoga area, and nap inducing oversized egg chairs. There are four tranquil bedrooms (3 queen beds, one double), each with their own unique personality. The primary bedroom comes complete with its own bathroom with a clawfoot tub. A bathroom with a walk-in glass shower, a laundry closet, and a desk (for those who simply can’t avoid work) round out the remaining amenities in the cottage. The cottage has both Bell and Rogers internet. Don’t worry if the power goes off – the generator will kick in to ensure necessary appliances and lights continue to keep you comfortable during your stay. Depending on ice conditions in the winter, dates may become available for guests to experience the region’s spectacular winter wonderland from mid-January through February. Guest access Restricted access to storage shed at rear of island, storage shed / outhouse, mainland boathouse. Other things to note The property is on septic system. Please use only toilet paper in the toilets. Please do not flush paper towels or any feminine hygiene products down the toilet as they will back up the septic system. If you are bringing a dog, flea and tick protection is required.
