Mamjos Airbnb
Description
Experience the real Palawan in the humble coastal village of Binga. Our simple, solar-powered 2-bedroom cottage is just minutes from the beach and perfect for travelers seeking something honest and off the beaten path. Your host, Mam Jo (my mom!), is a straight-talking local who’s equal parts tough and warm-hearted, always ready to help, guide, or share a laugh. While I help manage our Airbnb online, it’s actually my parents who do all the wonderful work hosting our guests on the ground. The space It’s a modest, practical cottage named after our host, Mam Jo, made for simple living and easy rest. The space includes two bedrooms, each with a double bed, plus a small living area for quiet chats, reading, or planning the day ahead. The small toilet and shower are in separate rooms, both basic but kept clean, typical of a functional provincial home. You’ll also have a simple kitchen with essentials for light cooking, and a washing machine is available for guest use (a small fee may apply). This isn’t luxury. It’s soulful, grounded living in a community still beautifully untouched by mass tourism. Other things to note Our bungalow is a great base for adventure seekers who want to explore this quieter side of Palawan. If you’d like a better feel for the place and the kinds of experiences around us, you can also find our content on TikTok by searching ‘Mamjos Airbnb.' For an additional fee, we can help arrange a trusted local guide to explore nearby islands, beaches, waterfalls, and hiking spots. Just tell us what kind of day you’re dreaming of. If you’d like to slow things down after, we can also refer you to a local masseuse for a massage at the property or by the beach, for a fee and subject to availability. A few practical notes: Our beaches may have sand flies (“nik-nik”). They’re harmless but can be itchy, so we recommend insect repellent, sunscreen, or Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) in sandy areas. Village life comes with its own soundtrack: roosters in the morning and occasional videoke in the evening, so light sleepers may want to pack earplugs. Lastly, we’re solar-powered, so electricity is best used for lights, fans, and charging small devices — a gentle nudge to unplug and settle into island time.
