A gorgeous, one-bedroom cottage, set in a lovely village in the New Forest, surrounded by woodland and with a local pub only 150 yards away. The cottage is comfortably furnished, with a bright living area at the back of the property with patio doors leading out to a sunny patio. A well-equipped kitchen at the front and the bedroom and bath/shower and wash basin upstairs (paddle staircase) completes Wisteria Cottage. There is plenty to do in the area for all ages, all year round, including Beaulieu Motor Museum, Bucklers Hard, Marwell Zoo, New Forest Wildlife Park and Southampton with its maritime history, to name but a few! It is only a 10-minute drive to historic Lymington, with waterside dining, boutiques, and ferries to the Isle of Wight. Wisteria Cottage is also within easy reach of many beaches, including Sandbanks, Poole, and Bournemouth. Sway village itself is a quaint village and dates from Anglo-Saxon times, being listed four times in the Domesday Book of 1086. The village is best known for Sway Tower, also known locally as Peterson’s Folly. Built in the late 19th century by the eccentric Judge Peterson, the 220-foot-tall tower is built entirely of concrete and was influenced by Peterson’s visits to India. Even today Sway Tower remains the tallest structure built out of non-reinforced concrete. The tower was finished around 1885 and today is a Grade II Listed building and can be seen from much of the New Forest. Biking in the New Forest is great; Sway village is surrounded by heathland, and there are plenty of designated gravel tracks. Once you get into the open forest, there are safe off-road and gentle cycle routes with tracks through the open heathland and sheltered woods. More active folk can cycle to nearby villages such as Lyndhurst, Burley and Rhinefield. Free WiFi There are open, steep, spiral or narrow stairs at the property. Please note. upstairs is accessed via a modular paddle staircase
