Other things to note upplevekero Is Ekerö's little tourist site with lots of information and tips. Excursions: * Drottningholm Castle * Take the Waxholm boat (Waholmsbolaget) from the city and experience the Stockholm archipelago. Sandhamn is a larger island with both wonderful nature and good restaurants. Recommended! * Birka, Stockholm's trading center in the Viking Age (boat goes from Jungfrusund) * Juntras garden Grow your own with café and food. Popular excursion destination. * Rosenhills gårdscafé farm shop with café in a hippie environment. Here you can sleep in a cabin. * Ekebyhovs Castle is within bicycle distance. Smaller castle park with café some days. * Kärsön. Located between the bridges at Drottningholm Castle. There is disc golf, mini golf, paddle boat rentals, beach volleyball, swimming, etc. * Something that can be an experience is to rent a kayak in town. Either in Pampas or Långholmen. Then you can paddle into the town hall and see the canal with old wooden boats that are charming. * From Tappström, a shuttle boat goes into town if you want to avoid the car for a day. Golf: Close to several nice golf clubs, I am a member of Troxhammar & Mälarö Golf Club, which are really nice courses: Troxhammar Golf Club 18+12 holes Mälarö GK 18+9 holes (my favorite course) Kungliga Drottningholms GK (I have never played here) Activities: Less than 5 km from the house, there is the Marina in Jungfrusund. There is miniature golf, sauna raft, paddle, bowling and a range of activities. There are also restaurants and cafés. At the Södran swimming area (down to the left at the end of our road) you can rent kayaks and SUPs. Marked running trails are found in the forest between the house and Jungfrusund marina, but it is of course possible to run along the waters in the forest as well. If you go past Södran, in at the boat club, there is a nice little walking path along the water. After the small footbridge is a small remote pebble beach that we think is charming. Restaurants : * Vinstian (Ekerövägen 82) walking distance to a small wine bar with good and affordable lunches. FB: svinstian ab * Kolmilan (Jungfrusund by the ferry) is usually good and nice. * Tegnérs bakery (Jungfrusund by the ferry) café * MGL Sushi (Jungfrusund by the ferry) Good sushi! * Restaurant Jungfrusund (Marina) Good location but may not always perform according to the price. Good if you want to have a drink and hang out a bit. * O'learys (Marina) classic sports bar with bowling, billiards and shuffleboard. * Spice of India (Ekerövägen 51) always good with Indian. * Rastaholms värdshus. If you want to eat in a fantastic place near the water and away from people and noise. I can't post any links but let me know if you want guidance to their websites. The nearest supermarket is LIDL. If you want a larger assortment and more fresh groceries, ICA Tappström is the store we recommend. Bicycles or boats are not something we provide. Bicycles are available for rent in some places in Stockholm while boats are usually more difficult to get at short notice.
