Description

Pepper Tree Farm is a peaceful retreat nestled on the border of the Adelaide Hills and Barossa Valley. Enjoy breakfast provisions of local bacon, free-range eggs, homemade bread and fresh juice before exploring wineries, trails, and nearby towns. Families will love meeting the miniature goats, donkey, sheep, chooks and friendly resident dogs. Relax under the vines or by the fire, with complimentary doggy daycare available if your dog has joined you on your adventures! The space Pepper Tree Farm is on a quiet rural road, so instead of traffic you’ll hear magpies in the mornings and kookaburras most evenings. Blue wrens flit around the garden, while galahs, rosellas and sulphur-crested cockatoos visit in the early mornings and late afternoons. The property is 10 acres in total. Around half is devoted to the house and surrounding garden, with secure, fully fenced areas where your dog can safely explore, including a winter creek that many visiting dogs love to investigate. The remaining paddocks are home to my three dogs, miniature goats, a donkey, sheep and chickens. The house is surrounded by lawn, trees and natural bushland. It’s an easy place to slow down – sit under the pergola or at one of the outdoor seating spots with a coffee or a glass of wine and enjoy the leafy outlook over the garden and paddocks, or come inside and relax by the fire on the comfy sofa. Guests often describe the setting as peaceful, private and “idyllic”, and say the photos don’t do it justice. Inside, the self-contained ground floor is beautifully presented, homely and contemporary, with a cosy wood fire, comfortable queen bed and plenty of natural light. Many guests comment that the space is spotless, extremely well equipped and has “everything you could need”, so it feels like a true home away from home rather than a bare holiday unit. On arrival you’ll find a generous welcome hamper featuring a bottle of wine from our local cellar door, Kersbrook Hill Wines & Cider, freshly baked bread, cheese, biscuits and sweet treats. Combined with the wide range of breakfast provisions and pantry staples, this means you can settle in and feel thoroughly spoilt without needing to shop straight away. Guests frequently say it’s the best welcome basket and provisions they’ve had in an Airbnb. The house is comfortable year-round: in cooler months the log fire, electric blanket and cosy furnishings make it a favourite winter getaway, while in warmer weather the reverse-cycle air conditioning, shaded outdoor areas and evening breezes over the paddocks are perfect for keeping things cool. It’s also a convenient base for exploring the Barossa, Adelaide Hills and nearby cafés, pubs and wineries. Guest access Guests and their dog(s) will have sole access to the ground floor of the home, which is separate from the upper living areas. This means that, inside the house, you will have sole access to the living and dining rooms, kitchen, queen size bedroom, laundry, bathroom and toilet. Your private areas outside include four separate fully fenced garden/paddock areas encompassing approx 4 acres. Please note that I and my dogs will be upstairs & you'll rarely see or hear me (unless you have a question or for housekeeping purposes) - or you'd like to have a chat! My dogs however can, on occasion, sound a little like a herd of elephants when they're waiting for me to serve their meals, or are playing & chasing each other upstairs! I will do my best to ensure they are as well-behaved and quiet as possible though :) Other things to note This is a listing for those of you who love your dogs as much as I love mine. I ask that only family friendly, well-behaved dogs are brought onto the property in order that all of us (humans & canines) enjoy your visit. Your dog is likely to remain separate to mine at all times, but they can interact if everyone's happy for that to occur and, most importantly, they've been appropriately and safely introduced. Both your and my dog's safety and happiness is paramount. Please let me know a little about your dog(s) so that I can plan for their stay. If you would like me to entertain your hound while you're out exploring, please let me know approx what you need so that I can plan my schedule too. Let's talk/message about your dog's details and needs before your stay so that we all have a great time :)
