Expect a well equipped kitchen, big open dining and comfortably equipped lounge with floorboards and a big, modern bathroom with shower and free standing tub. Central heating and air conditioning to keep you comfortable all year round. Bonus bar cart with cocktail shaker & glasses for those who enjoy whipping up a cocktail! A great back covered deck at the rear with BBQ and big outdoor table so you can relax outdoors plus a pretty front porch to sit and watch the world go by. Carpeted bedrooms, each with their own individual style. Two large front bedrooms have lovely stained glass windows, all with block out curtains. Expect comfortable mattresses, high quality bed linens, comfortable mix of pillows, Egyptian cotton towels and more. Every booking receives a sweet treat, plus coffee, tea and milk provided. We also leave a pantry stocked with cooking essentials & in the bathroom you'll also find toiletry essentials. The house sleeps 6 people in 3 queen beds. (If you have seven guests and need an additional bed, we have a day bed we can convert into a comfortable single bed for a small additional charge.) Other things to note I love hosting and take such pleasure in ensuring you have a great stay! The Botanist's Retreat is gorgeous but what's extra perfect is its location right in the heart of fabulous Castlemaine. You can leave the car after you arrive (or even arrive in town via train) and then walk everywhere. The Mill Market is such an awesome complex, the Botanical Gardens opposite are great for walks and picnics or wander into town for more restaurants, bars, cafes, shopping or the market. The house is easy to locate, and walk into town, being that it is on the main road through town (60km road). There is some road noise from cars during the day from cars, but it's quiet overnight. If you prefer absolute peace and quiet all day and night, we'd suggest looking for a place out of town. We're diagonally opposite the Castlemaine Arts Hotel and across from a Shell service station, so handy for grabbing a soft drink or extra milk, or fuelling up to explore the region. It couldn't be easier to explore Castlemaine from Harper's Cottage Castlemaine! We love gardening and have added a wide range of natives and grasses which will grow and add to the garden's charm over time Note: -We have a 2 night min stay most of the year, with 3-4 nights in peak periods like Christmas or School holidays.
