Description
This two-bedroom holiday cabin is on the sunny south side of Savary Island, near Powell River, BC. Access is by water taxi from Lund, then by land taxi on the island. The cabin is 'off grid', running on solar power with a propane stove and hot water heater. Duvets and pillows provided. Cellphone reception is good. The nearest post office is Lund, BC. There is no postal code for the listing since there is no mail service as it is an island. The space The cabin is basic, with two bedrooms and one bathroom with toilet and indoor shower. An open-plan common area has a futon, a table and chairs, a woodburning fire and a small kitchen. The bedrooms and common area all lead to the front deck, which has elevated views of the Strait of Georgia. At night, you can see the lights of cruise ships on their way to Alaska. From the back door, back deck and kitchen you can see the forest and an eagle's nest high up in a tree on the property. Spacious for two people, fine for four, but a bit of a squeeze for six adults. Guest access Guests have access to the whole cabin and grounds, including the path to the beach and the gas barbecue. Other things to note Our solar power system does not cater for hairdryers, toasters, microwaves or other electrical appliances. There is no dishwasher or tv. You may plug in chargers for phones and other communication devices. There is no wifi, but cellphone coverage is good. Bring your own sheets, pillowcases, towels and tea towels. Duvets and pillows are provided. Bring all the food and drink you need for your stay, as shopping is limited to one grocery store several miles away.
