Welcome to Our Home Sheltered under a canopy of exotic Mango and Jackfruit trees, our spacious cottage, offers a peaceful retreat in the heart of Hiriketiya Bay. Immersed in nature, with an abundance of wildlife and birds, this is the perfect tropical hideaway for couples, solo adventurers and Digital Nomads alike. Book the other two cottages next door, and you have the perfect spot for a family getaway. The three cottages, situated on the same property, sit side by side, but are separated for privacy and have their own private entrances and gardens. Spoilt for choice between two beaches, you can either walk 2 minutes to Pehembiya Beach, the best swimming spot in the area. Or walk 8 minutes (500m) to the main beach of Hiriketiya, where you can enjoy one of the best places to learn to surf on the southern coast. You'll have the entire cottage to yourself. The host will kindly assist you in on arrival. Getting here + local transport To get to Hiriketiya from Colombo, you can take the train from Colombo Fort Station, to Wewrukannala Train Station, from there catch a tuk-tuk to the cottage (Only a 7 min drive). There are loads of tuk-tuks to get a ride from within 2 minutes walk of the property. The Dikwella bus station is only a 15 minute walk, and the Wewrukannala Train Station, from which to catch the train, is a 7 min tuk-tuk ride away. As well as we can arrange with any mode of comfortable vehicle on your request with our own taxi service including airport drop or pick up with a favorable charge. While we give you space to enjoy your stay, we're always available via text or phone, should you need any assistance during your stay. We can't wait to host you in our tranquil slice of paradise. For Digital Nomads; All cottages have high-speed, reliable internet (Fiber optic Wi-fi), perfect for Zoom or G' Meet meetings, streaming Netflix, YouTube, etc. 2 minutes walk away, there is also the Verse Collective Co-Working Space. There is a well stocked café nearby, where you can buy all the basics needed (And you can head into Dikwella to do a bigger shop). There are also many excellent restaurants to choose from, make sure to experience Smoke & Bitters, Malu Poke and Dunis Hoppers. The whole property is covered with a cement wall and a locked gate. When you walk through the small village with a jungle, you would meet cheerful people and you would not missed their smile. Sometimes a kind word. Most of the time it is very easy travel around by tuk-tuk. And scooters are available to rent. Kitchen and Livingroom Stepping inside our modern take on a traditional Sri Lankan home, you'll be greeted by a comfortable open-plan kitchen and living room, ideal for both dining or relaxing. Enjoy a fully-equipped kitchen, suitable for preparing meals at home, with ample fridge / freezer space. An electric cooker, rice-maker, kettle, blender, pots, frying pans and microwave are provided. Bedroom and Bathroom The bedroom has a comfortable queen-size bed and high-quality linens. There is also ample cupboard storage. The bathroom offers a refreshing hot water shower, with fresh towels and complimentary toiletries.
