Bluegum Cottage, Smithfield in SA

Your artist hostess designed and furnished the cottage so expect quality yet quirky, uncluttered decor. The cottage is very spacious, comfortable and light and overlooks a large organic garden. With its own access and safe off-street parking your privacy is guaranteed. Recently added free Wi-Fi, and a solar system with back up gas geyser which means I don't depend on the national grid for power. The space The Bluegum Cottage is a single self catering unit which can accommodate up to 6 people (or 7 using a mattress on the floor) sharing a large bathroom with shower and bath. New features include a solar systemwithback up gas geyser (for when our power goes off) and free WiFi. There are 2 separate bedrooms with queen size beds. (The bedroom upstairs is not for those who struggle with stairs as they are steep.) The bedroom downstairs is spacious and has an extra length queen size bed. The last room is a large living area which has 2 single beds, a kitchenette with dining table and a seating area, DSTV and a flat-screen TV. As it is self catering the breakfast included in the price consists of cereals, tea and coffee, which guests help themselves to. The beds and linens have been praised by guests for their good quality, all sheets are cotton percale. The upstairs bedroom has a big patio which offers a wide view over the garden. It does not have a railing, so small children should be supervised. The shared bathroom has a bath and large 'rain' shower and is designed as a 'wet-room. There is lots of light from large windows with burglar bars specially designed by the hostess. You will be the only guests on the property so you will have total peace and quiet. Guest access Guest access to the cottage is a private entrance from the parking lot. Parking is very spacious and closed from view from the street by a big green corrugated iron sliding gate which is locked at night. Guests can walk around the very large organic garden and sit under the trees. In summer I can offer you a dip in my 3m round plunge pool. Other things to note I have just bought a solar system with back up gas geyser so you won't suffer from no electricity when our power goes out, which happens very often in South Africa. There is free Wi-Fi (+10mbps) for my guests. I cook delicious dinners like my guest favorite ' spaghetti bolognese ' or local lamb chops with steamed veg/salad or rump/fillet steak, with prior arrangement and at extra cost. I also cook vegetarian/vegan and halal dishes. Smoking is only allowed in the outside areas. The pool is a 3m diameter and 1m deep plunge pool. All my linen is pure cotton for extra comfort.
