Welcome to the Captain’s Residence! This unique historic rental is located on the grounds of Lighthouse Park in Marquette, Michigan, a small peninsular park that juts out into Lake Superior and is capped by the iconic red Marquette Harbor Light. This property is surrounded on three sides by Lake Superior and is the easternmost home in the City! Historically, this home was the residence of Coast Guard Captains of years past until the property was given to the City. The space The first story contains the living room, dining room, and a full kitchen. The living room overlooks Marquette Bay and is the perfect place to spend a morning. The dining room seats six and has windows overlooking Lighthouse Park and the forested area in the back of the house. The house is on a peninsula and gets a lovely cross breeze off of Lake Superior with the windows open. A curated collection of local art is displayed throughout the house! There are three bedrooms on the second story, the Southern facing rooms each have a queen bed and the Northern facing room has two twin beds. The queen rooms have a magnificent view of Lake Superior and Marquette Bay. The twin room looks out onto the rear forested portion of the property where McCarty's Cove, Lake Superior, and even Presque Isle can be seen through the trees. The full bathroom is also located on this level. The property is located on the grounds of Lighthouse Park and is steps from the Marquette Harbor Light on the East side of the property and the City Multi-Use Path on the West side. The park is open to the public from 7 a.m.- 10 p.m. each day. Guest access Guests will have access to the entire house, with the exception of the basement. Additionally, there is a picnic area in the back of the house. Guests will also have access to all of Lighthouse Park and a Lighthouse Tours are available through the Maritime Museum.
