Hostel Idrija, just a 5-minute walk from the old town of Idrija, a UNESCO-protected city, is the perfect starting point for exploring the unspoiled nature and rich cultural heritage of Idrija, as well as a convenient and affordable starting point for exploring the other beauties of Slovenia. Because we have traveled the world ourselves, we are attentive to the needs and desires of every traveler: fresh bed linen and towels, a hot shower, free internet, interesting events and a relaxed atmosphere. The space Hostel Idrija is housed in an old building above the center of Idrija, which was originally intended to be a monastery, but its purpose was never fulfilled. Later it became a student dormitory, and today it is a hostel and a meeting place for the youth of Idrija. We welcome hikers, cyclists, motorcyclists, families, and your best furry friends. The hostel offers 9 private double rooms, one private triple room and one quadruple family room. All rooms have single beds, which can be converted into double beds at your request. The rooms are modernly and minimally furnished with wood. We offer you a huge amount of common areas. From two modern kitchens with all the necessary equipment for the most demanding chefs and bakers, to a playfully furnished living room with a computer, printer, scanner, board games and literature for every taste, classrooms of various sizes with boards and a projector, to a gym and a hall with a table tennis table and hand football. Also suitable for digital nomads, as we offer you a free internet connection and private offices. We also boast a spacious terrace where we regularly host events for every taste, from concerts, films, stand-up comedians, yoga or just for relaxed evenings. Guest access The hostel is located on a hill, just above the city center, so there are quite a few steps to get to us, and those who come by car have a few turns. Free parking is available in front of the building. We offer you the possibility of renting e-bikes at a reasonable price to make it easier to explore the hilly Idrija or to ride to the most beautiful natural beach - Lajšt, far and wide. For more information on bike availability, please contact us in advance or ask at reception upon arrival. If you arrive with your own bicycles, we have a secure bicycle storage area ready for you, with the possibility of charging e-bikes. Other things to note The reception is open daily from 4 pm to 8 pm. If you need a later check-in, please let us know in advance so we can send you self check-in instructions. If you do not inform us in advance, we reserve the right not to accept you on the day of arrival or to charge you the price of late arrival, which can be up to 50€. Pets are welcome, we will charge you €5 per day for their stay. If you need a laundry service, please arrange this option at the hostel reception. The laundry service costs €5 per wash.
