History of Maison Desplats/Deplà The residence is the work of the prestigious Franco-Argentine architect Gustavo Desplats and his son Gustavo Desplats. The incredible decorated wooden staircase is the result of the work of Saturnino Desplats, son of Miguel Desplats, the first master stairmaker in Argentina and winner of the silver medal at the Universal Exhibition in Paris (1889) for his staircase design. All the fittings are by José Desplats. Inventor of the Desplats banner system. The house was built as the residence of José Armando Desplats and his wife Raquel Desplats de Desplats. Respectively, the children of José and Gustavo, the nephews of Saturnino and the grandchildren of Miguel.
