This is where he spent much of his time studying desert life and creating magnificent artwork. It is a 1 bedroom / 1 kitchen / 1 bathroom apartment, attached to the main house but accessed separately. Ask anyone in town about Marvin Friedman – they pretty much all know him as the mythological Biology teacher at the Arad High School, and a wildlife zoologist par excellence. “A legend” and “a rare person” are just two of the many powerful words used by some of Marvin’s former students to describe him. His unique teaching method involved taking students out to the desert so that they experience it and bringing desert life into the classroom. He had a way with students, leaving them with great memories many years after his retirement; in fact, many of them claim he was the reason they began to love animals and nature in the first place. Marvin’s workroom was renovated to accommodate one person or a couple looking to enjoy their time in the peaceful town of Arad, and no expense was spared to provide guests with a luxurious experience. As you walk up the driveway, you'll follow a path leading to the back of house where you'll discover a beautiful wooden deck overlooking the desert, and a private entrance to the guesthouse. From the deck you'll enjoy captivating views of the desert and on clear days can see the Dead Sea. On occasion, you'll find a pack of camels grazing below in the valley. Guests have private use of an enclosed, heated gazebo with dining table, as well as a swing, small table, and charcoal grill (just bring your own food of choice and charcoal). When you enter the guesthouse, you'll walk into a small bedroom with a luxurious foam memory double bed. The room is equipped with a 43-inch smart TV with complementary local channels, Netflix, and YouTube. A small door (50 cm / 20 inch wide) leads to the bathroom where you'll find a walk-in shower, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, hair dryer, and of course toilet paper… An adjacent hallway leads to a kitchen, which is fully equipped with everything you'd need for your own cooking (fridge with freezer, gas stovetop, microwave, Espresso coffee machine with complementary capsules, milk foam maker, water kettle, complementary water bottle and milk, cooking oil, spices, and all kitchenware). Marvin's Place is small, but cozy. To accommodate your luggage, we've placed a plastic garden storage unit right outside the guesthouse, freeing up space inside the unit. . Guest access The guesthouse is located in the back part of a private home. To reach it, guests follow a path along the side of the house, down a few steps to a private wooden deck and entrance to the guesthouse.
