Welcome to Lighthouse on the Rock, a unique vacation rental that offers a blend of history and comfort. This charming property, located in the renovated lower level of a historic church, accommodates up to four guests with one bedroom and additional sleeping arrangements in the main living area. The split bathroom design ensures convenience during your stay. Lighthouse on the Rock is perfect for gathering friends who camp, as it welcomes up to two RVs at no extra cost. Dog owners will appreciate the pet-friendly policy, allowing your furry friends to join in on the vacation fun. For added security, the property is equipped with cameras on the front side of the dwelling. Guest access Freshwater Vacation Rentals will email your arrival/departure instructions with door/lock box code. You will let yourselves in and out. Other things to note FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Additional Housekeeping: If you book over 14 nights at our property, you will automatically receive complimentary weekly housekeeping. We will change the linens, provide fresh towels, and have the property clean for you. If you are interested in housekeeping services for a shorter stay, please inquire. Our caretaker also provides additional personal laundry assistance on a per-load basis if you are interested. Air Conditioning: Window air conditioner in entry-level foyer. Lower level stays cool naturally. Portable fans provided. ATV's: No direct trail access, but plenty of room for ATV and snowmobile trailers. ORV trail access just 2 miles away. Animals: Deer, raccoon, chipmunks, rabbits, bears Bathrooms: The split bathroom ensures convenience during your stay-toilet, urinal, sink in one room, shower, sink in another Beach/Swimming: Sunset Lake Public Beach 11 min(6.9 miles) Bedroom Configurations: Master bedroom- Queen size bed Main living area- Full size bed Boats: None provided, but plenty of room for boat trailers Boat Launch: Sunset Lake Public Boat Launch 11 min(6.9 miles) Ice Lake- for kayaks and canoes 7 min (4.6 miles) Cable: Not traditional cable. Iron River canoe/kayak put-in just 1 mile North on Gibbs City Road. At the curve by the Iron River Township Hall, keep going straight ahead on the gravel road. Drinking Water: City water Drugs/Smoking/Fireworks: Freshwater does not permit illegal drugs of any kind on the property. Due to the location of the properties, smoking is strongly discouraged around the home and strictly prohibited in the home. Fireworks are prohibited at a Freshwater location for the safety of all persons in and around the property, even if it is legal in that city. Fireplace: *Electric potbelly in bedroom *Electric stone fireplace in living room Fire-pit: Yes, also there's a propane fire table on the back patio. Fishing: Not on site, but plenty of room for boat trailers. Lakes, rivers and streams within just a few miles abound with trout, bass, walleye and northern pike. Fishing License: A license is required in order to fish in Michigan. Fishing Poles: Not provided Golf: Ski Brule(8.4 Miles) & Youngs Country Club(12 miles) Grill: Propane Grocery Store: Iron River Family Foods-2 miles. Super One, 2.5 miles Handicap Friendly: No Heat: Forced air-natural gas Hunting: Not on property, but the Ottawa National Forest is literally around the corner. Prime grouse, deer and bear hunting grounds! Internet: Yes, wifi is provided Linens: Yes, we provide your sheets and linens. Just like a hotel, the beds will be made for you upon arrival. We have just the basic sheets, pillows, pillowcases, and bath towels. Parking: Plenty of Parking for cars, boat or ATV trailers. Additional space for 2 RVs. Water hookup for 2. One 50-amp and one 20-amp electric svc on side of building. (No gray or black water hookup on site. Dump station $10 at Klint Safford Memorial RV Park, 2 mi.) Pets: Dogs are welcome! (2 MAX) Freshwater Vacation Rentals currently charges $75/per pet for your entire stay. Yes, we do accept dogs, yet we do ask that you please clean up after them both inside and outside the cabin. Plus, if you allow them on the furniture, we do ask that you please bring your own linens/blankets for them to sleep on. Just let us know which bed you will be using with them, and we’ll make sure it is ready for your sheets when you arrive. Plus, if the pet hair starts to build, we do ask that you please run the vacuum. Generally, dogs love the water and places to explore. Pet food does tend to attract mice, so vigilance is needed. Privacy: There are two homes within view RV Parking: There is room to park 2 RVs on property. Water hookup for 2. One 50-amp and one 20-amp electric svc on side of building. (No gray or black water hookup on site. Dump station $10 at Klint Safford Memorial RV Park, 2 mi.). 50 to 30 amp adaptor and extension cord available for RV guest use, just message for code to access storage located near water hook-up on back of home. Snowmobiles: Welcome! Large U-drive and plenty of room for sled parking! Ride your sleds along Gibbs City Road, cross over the road, to the right when you leave the front door. In just 1 mile you will see the Iron County State Line Trail (#2/15) . Those wanting more direct trail access may trailer sleds just 2/10 of a mile further to the parking lot of the Iron Township Hall, then ride from there. Space: Renovated Finnish Apostolic Lutheran Church (lower level only) Seniors: Welcome-ground level entry. Nine steps down to living space with 4 ft. wide steps with hand rails Televisions: One 36" in Living Room with Google TV, DVD/VCR player and small family-friendly movie collection. Towels: All bath and kitchen towels will be provided during your stay. Please bring beach towels with you! Washer and Dryer: Not on site, but next-day wash/dry/fold laundry service available at reasonable cost and laundromat just 2 miles away. Winter Activities: * Snowmobiling - Iron County Snowmobile Trails – The area has extensive snowmobile trails, connecting to larger regional networks. Distance: Within 5-10 miles * Cross-Country Skiing & Snowshoeing - Ottawa National Forest Distance: 10-15 miles (about a 20-minute drive) - Ski Brule- Offers downhill skiing Distance: 8.4 miles (about a 14 minute drive) * Ice Fishing - Iron County Lakes – Popular lakes for ice fishing, including Crystal Lake and Lake Ottawa. Distance: 5-10 miles (easy access to nearby lakes) * Downhill Skiing & Snowboarding - Big Snow Resort – Offers downhill skiing, snowboarding, and tubing. Distance: 25-30 miles (about a 35-minute drive) * Winter Hiking -Iron River Area Distance: Within 5-10 miles * Other Activities - Copper Dog Sled Race Distance: 1.5 hours away in Marquette Wood: 1 wood bundle provided
