Go for a drive and stuff your rental car with antiques and farmers market finds. People have been coming to the Catskills to vacation for so many years for good reason! - HIKING. We’re smack in the middle of the Catskills Park, surrounded by protected State land. Just two miles from the Inn are some of the best trails around for hikers of every level: Hunter Mountain Fire Tower and the John Robb Lean-To, Diamond Notch Falls, West Kill Mountain... We also love the Ashokan Rail Trail, Giant Ledge, Overlook Mountain, Kaaterskills Falls, Artist's Rock, and Colgate Lake all between 20-40 mins from us. In your room, you’ll find a map with tips. You can also check out NYNJ Trail Conference for trail maps, the Catskills 3500 Club for trail info and group hikes, and hit up Girl Gotta Hike, Gray Fox Guiding, or Catskill Fungi if you'd like a personal guided trip! - EATING AND DRINKING. With so many farms in the area, it's no surprise there are loads of great places to eat! Some of our faves are Brushland Eating House, Phoenicia Diner, Peekamoose, Gaskins, Sylvia, Dixon, Jagerberg, The Windham Local, Lil’ Deb’s Oasis, Bread Alone, and Mama's Boy Burgers. Cooking yourself? Stock up at our local general store Van Dusen’s, our neighborhood Farmer’s Market or the one in Kingston, or pop into a farmstand like Migliorelli or RSK. Sip of something when you’re out and about? Head to Wayside Cider's Tap Room, Union Grove Distillery, Brunette Wine Bar, or of course West Kill Brewing which is literally right next door, just a five minute walk from your room! - ROAD TRIPPING. We might be five miles down a seven mile dead end road, but we're easy driving distance to loads of quaint towns just waiting for you explore them: Phoenicia, Margaretville, Andes, Roxbury, Tannersville, Woodstock... When you check in, you'll get a map of our favorite stuff in the area. Other things to note WHEN ARE YOU OPEN? Weekends Memorial Day thru October. (Aka Fri & Sat nights, plus Sun on long weekends.) We used to be open 7 days a week all year long. Maybe we’ll do it again one day, but for now, this works for our family! HOW DO I RESERVE A ROOM? Here, on our website (Spruceton Inn dot com), or over the phone. Every year mailing list members get exclusive first dibs on the calendar so sign up on our homepage! CAN I COME TO THE BAR EVEN IF I’M NOT STAYING AT THE INN? You bet! We’re open 5-8pm Fri & Sat, plus Sun on long weekends. You can enjoy your sips inside our little bar our outside in the garden. HOW DO I GET ON THE WAITLIST FOR A CERTAIN DATE? Email us at info at Spruceton Inn dot com with the subject line WAITLIST and in the body of the email tell us: The dates you wanna to stay, (multiple dates are ok, all stays are two night minimum or three nights for holiday weekends) and the best phone number to reach you. WHAT’S YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY? All changes and cancellations must be made over the phone. Change/cancellation requests sent via email WILL NOT BE HONORED. Cancellations and changes made 30+ days of the reservation are refundable minus a $25 cancellation fee. Cancellations and changes made 15-29 days before the reservation are refundable minus a $100 per room fee. Cancelations and changes made within 14 days of the reservation are charged in full. No-shows and early check-outs are charged in full. DO YOU EVER HAVE ONE-NIGHT STAYS? Very occasionally! Sometimes someone’s plans will change last second and we’ll have a single night open up which we’ll announce on our the 'Gram. WHAT’S THE DEAL WITH CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT? Come by Room One any time after 12 noon on Friday to pick up your key. If it’s before or after our bar hours (5-8pm) your key will be hanging outside the door with your name and room number on ‘em. So really, you can arrive as late as you’d like, no prob. Check out is 12 noon so you can sleep in and make it to our Sunday Service story hour in the barn if you’d like! CAN I BRING MY KID(S)? Spruceton Inn is best suited to adults, being a Bed & Bar and all. That said, it’s not a rule written in stone and we have cots available first-come, first-served for a $50 per night, so drop us a line if you’re thinking about bringing along a kiddo. (Maximum one cot per room.) You're welcome to bring pack-n-plays for your itty bitty ones, just let us know before you arrive so we’ve got a proper headcount for your room. WHAT ABOUT MY PET? Your pet is probably super cool, but unfortunately not everybody’s pets play well together, so we have a NO PET policy. We do accept service dogs, see the ADA guidelines for details. DO YOU DO GROUPS? Sorry to say that we do not host group reservations (except for on site weddings, see below) or hold rooms for events being held elsewhere. You and your pals are of course totally welcome to book individually online any time if you’d like to come together! (You can book up to 4 rooms per reservation.) And if you drop us a note, we’ll do our best to make sure your rooms are next to each other. DO YOU HOST WEDDINGS? Heck yeah! We’ve had 35 and counting. We are currently booking for 2024. You can check out how we party on our website. And this should go without saying but we’ll say it anyway: EVERYONE is welcome to get married here! HOW CAN I GET TO YOU? CAN I TAKE PUBLIC TRANSPORT? We recommend having a car for your stay since the only things within walking distance of us are the trailheads and West Kill Brewing. There’s no Lyft or Uber since there’s no cell service out here, and taxis are pricey and have to be booked way in advance. Btw, if you’re renting a car and coming from NYC, we recommend hopping Metro North to Poughkeepsie. It’s cheaper and you don’t have to deal with city traffic! Still determined to get here via public transport? Your best bet is to take an Adirondack Trailways bus to Phoenicia or Kingston (about $40 from NYC) then arrange for a local taxi to pick you up. You can try Majestic Mountain, Smiley's, or Kingston Kabs. Just know that because this is such a rural area, they'll often charge upwards of $80 a ride, even if it's just 15 minutes. WHAT’S YOUR COVID POLICY THESE DAYS? Please don’t come if you’ve tested positive within the past 10 days. Test before you arrive if you’re feeling iffy or if you know you’ve had direct exposure recently. If you have to change your plans, we’ll do our absolute best to accommodate you because SAFETY FIRST! Most of our property can be easily enjoyed outside, but our front desk and bar in Room One is teeeeeny tiny, so please be considerate.
