Welcome to Heather's Haven, located at 314 Riverside Dr, Fairmont, WV! Truly "Almost Heaven" this gorgeous, one of-a kind cabin is located on the Tygart Valley River and comes with it's own dock! Bring your boat, kayaks, jet skis, canoes and anything else that floats! Don't forget your fishing poles...state records have been caught right here! For the WVU fans...you're only 15 minutes away from a Mountaineer kick/tip off! Bikers and hikers will love our 60 miles of trails along the river! Heather's Haven is like no other! You will absolutely love enjoying your coffee and tea while lounging in the sunroom with sweeping views of the river...actually, every room has a view of the river! The cabin has an open loft with two, comfy, queen size beds. Upstairs also has a full bath with standup shower, towels and washcloths, dedicated washcloths for your makeup removal, hair dryer, curling iron, magnified/lit makeup mirror, soaps, makeup remover wipes, mini shampoo and conditioner. The half bath downstairs has a washer and dryer, iron, ironing board and a drying rack. The kitchen comes fully stocked with a coffee and tea bar, a wine bar with custom, hand-painted Heather's Haven wine glasses, a Ninja blender for those icy, summertime drinks, a George Forman grill, a Ninja air fryer and anything else you can think of. The home comes with 3 TV's that each have a ROKU stick and Netflix is provided. It also comes with blazing fast internet with 3 different wifi channels: one for cell phones and laptops, one for TV's and one for gaming! If you feel like relaxing inside, there is a small library of books, puzzles, cards games, board games, and a beautiful onyx chess set and Chinese Checkers set (both purchased from the Linville Caverns of NC.) There is also a cozy, electric fireplace in the living room for ambiance and/or heat. If you feel like cooking out, there is a dual purpose fire pit that has the ability to cook with charcoal or firewood (*guests must bring both since they are not provided*) and also converts to a fire pit to enjoy smores and drinks by the fire. Feel like having a picnic by the water...that's been thought of for you as well! Enjoy the beautiful, hand-painted, Heather's Haven picnic table and watch the baby ducks swim by, the fish jump and the boaters lazing down the river while you eat. Make sure and say hi to NC Clyde...you'll know him when you see him! Please note that the entire cabin is an open floor plan and there are no interior walls ...including the separation of the two queen beds on the 2nd floor (except for the two bathrooms). There are two, free-standing, privacy screens stored next to the armoire to provide a bit of privacy. Please review all house rules before requesting to book. I do not allow: ~Pets ~Parties or loud disturbances ~Smoking inside the property ~Unauthorized Guests or Visitors at any time ~Shoes in the home ~Cooking/preparing fish or using curry inside the home ~Young Children and Infants for safety reasons ~ And Quiet times are from 10 pm to 8 am. Failing to adhere to all of these rules will be grounds for immediate removal without a refund of remaining nights. Being that this is a "haven," it has been designed with your rest, restoration and relaxation in mind. You will be enveloped in God's love here and will find uplifting and encouraging scriptures throughout the entire property. There is even a daily devotional for you to spend time in His word in the beautiful sunroom. Don't forget to sign the guest book there as well and tell me all about your visit. Please note that there is a train track across the river and a train runs a handful of times throughout the day and night. Also, please note there are lots of steps up to the home, inside the home and down to dock. Guests have full access to the dock. You may bring your own bloat, jet skis, kayaks, canoes, etc. You may put your boat and jet skis in at Wood's Boat Dock, located less than a mile up the river, at 2107 White Hall Blvd, Fairmont, WV. Just minutes away is the Mon Rail Trail with 60 miles of trail along the river to bike, walk or run. You may drive, or take the trail, to Prickett's Fort State Park and explore a reconstruction of the original fort that commemorates life on the frontier during the late 18th century. You MUST visit Valley Falls State Park during your visit. With several hiking trails and magnificent waterfalls, you'll thank me for the recommendation. If you're looking for some really epic hiking, make sure to check out Cooper's Rock State Park that is only a short drive away! If you get tired of playing on the river, check out the nearby lake life at: Cheat Lake, Tygart Lake State Park, or Stonewall Jackson Lake. Where do I start with all of the yummy food? We are home to the famous pepperoni roll that is only found in WV. If you've never tried one, visit Colosessano's and order one! Grab a pizza while you're there also...you'll thank me for this as well! Fairmont is also famous for our hotdogs. We have several amazing hot dog places, but the majority of locals will tell you to get the Yann dog. Make sure you order it with "sauce"...we don't say chili around here! We have a large variety of family owned, non-chain restaurants, coffee shops, ice cream shops and much more. Three iconic eateries you don't want to miss are: the Poky Dot, The Dairy cream Corner and Muriales Italian Kitchen. Make sure you visit Short Story Brewing in nearby Rivesville...my beer loving friends will really thank me for this one! If you are a wine enthusiast, we even have a local winery!
