Rocklea Beach Retreat is nestled in the sleepy Church Estate of Torquay. Wander down to Spring Creek Nature Reserve, stroll to nearby shops, cafes and breweries, explore coastal trails, lookouts, and the region’s famous beaches, waterfalls and wineries. Enjoy relaxing upstairs with views over the valley in the spacious living room, or enjoy a sunset drink on the deck. Come down for the weekend, the holidays, or use the workspace as a writers’ retreat away from the busyness of the city The space The standout features of Rocklea Beach Retreat are the beautiful views and uplifting feel of the top-level yoga / living room with ocean glimpses and views across the valley including sunsets on the horizon. Relax with a good book, pop on a movie or some music, or zen out with some yoga. TV and ENTERTAINMENT There are two TVs, with Apple TV and Google chromecast connected to the upstairs TV where you can either sign in to Apple TV or simply cast your streaming shows to the Chromecast utilising the property's Wifi internet. There is also a Stereo upstairs with a cord you can connect your phone to. LAYOUT AND BEDS The entire guest wing is across two floors, and can sleep 4 adults in two bedrooms with comfy queen sized beds, and a possible 5th person if they are happy to sleep on the fold-out couch. *The layout sees you walk through the ground floor bedroom, to get upstairs to the top floor - where the second bedroom, second toilet/powder room and living room are. For guests who require different sleeping arrangements - one of the couches in the upstairs living room folds out into a bed (click-clack couch), and there is also a spare single rollout foam mattress and extra linen/doona/blankets in the upstairs wardrobe - in addition to the two queen beds. The property adjoins but is totally separate from the front section of the house, via a solid, locked internal door. Sound management has been installed to minimise noise, and ensure Rocklea Beach Retreat is a relaxing retreat. BATHROOMS There is a bathroom with shower and toilet on the ground floor, and second powder room with the second toilet upstairs. KITCHENETTE You can also enjoy a sun-filled kitchenette with (plug-in) induction hot plate for cooking, microwave, toaster, kettle (tea, coffee and milk provided), and full-size fridge/freezer. HEATING / COOLING There are split system heating and cooling systems on both the ground floor and top floor. These are new and very effective and heat or cool the place quite quickly. There is also a tower heater/fan in the upstairs bedroom. PET FRIENDLY The property is dog (and cat) friendly - your pet(s) can be inside (if toilet trained) and outside, there is a secure fenced side yard, with dog kennel for small dogs on the deck, and a secure, large fenced backyard, totally separate from the adjoining yard. There are dog towels, dog blankets, pet bowls and toilet bags in the cupboard under the stairs. If you are bringing your dog(s), please let your host Ali know. Your host Ali’s dog - a quiet boy named Zac - lives on the property, and is totally separate either inside the front part of the house, or outside on his side of the divided backyard. PARKING There is off-street parking under the car port and driveway where you can park on the left side, or alternatively it is fine to park in the quiet street also. It is advisable to leave cars locked. Guest access Guests can park on, or off street on the left side of the carport and driveway, which is shared with your host Ali. Access to the Retreat is firstly through the pedestrian gate in the front fence with black push button, then up the 5 circular steps with rope balustrade on the left side of the property (looking at the house), which lead to the private entrance through another timber gate, and large deck with French Doors.
