Do you want a home-away-from-home on your travels? do you miss snuggling with your cat or dog (or chickens!)? do you love trees, a quiet house, and a more secluded setting? Then look no further--renting a room in my home will feel peaceful and safe. My log home is situated in the middle of 6 acres of trees between Stacy and North Branch, MN. My dog and 3 cats are ready to help you relax after a long workday. My pet doves will coo and laugh in the background. Chickens stay outside though;) The space interior is open concept with a *short* hallway off the kitchen/living room. Your bedroom is on the right (behind the kitchen) and mine is at the end of the hallway. Your bathroom is across the hallway from your room. You are welcome to use the laundry washer and dryer. They are in my room but you can use them whenever I am not sleeping. There is also a jacuzzi tub in my room you are welcome to use (must arrange with me so I'm not trying to sleep and don't barge in accidentally!) Please note: the doves start cooing at sunrise, dog barks for a few seconds during AM/PM feeding, and since my dog isn't a fan of other dogs, pets need to stay in the bedroom or be rotated out when we all are home. Guest access Guests access through the same front door as me. I am the only other occupant in the house unless a friend or family member is visiting, which does happen...because I live here. But I will make sure you know to expect another person. During your stay I work in the Twin Cities on a variable schedule and sometimes work from home. my work desk is in the main living room. Because we will be sharing living spaces, we will interact. Generally I am an extroverted introvert, so I like to chat and spend time with people but need a good deal of alone time to unwind. My house is quiet (except for the doves, and the dog when someone comes up the driveway--good guard dog:), peaceful and safe. I do occasionally have a friend or two over but I will ask to make sure know to expect another person in the house. Other things to note Cats, dog and birds in the house (may not be the best place for you if you have allergies). No carpet in the house so bring your slippers! No carpet keeps it much cleaner with all the pets. I do have a house cleaner that comes, and a Roomba, and I clean myself, but the house isn't perfectly sterile because of the pets-- it is a lived-in house. I do keep your bedroom and bathroom door shut so the pets stay out of those places, and clean according to Airbnb standards. also note there are several workspaces throughout the house : small table and comfy lounge chairs in your bedroom; dining room table; rocking chair; couch; you may just my desk when I'm not there (often cluttered though!) Finally, since I have to introduce you to the dog, we have to arrange check in when I'm home. I don't approve reservations until we agree on a time. this way if it doesn't work, we can simply decline the reservation.
