This suite is one of our 3 guest rooms. It has an en suite bathroom. The common areas (kitchen and living room) are available to guests on a limited basis, keeping in mind that we live in the home and are sharing it with guests. The house was built in the 40s, and has been updated a few times. Each guest room has a locking door for guest security. At times, the living room doubles as a music teaching studio. Our home is located on a residential street, close to several restaurants, two grocery stores, and a couple of convenience stores. It is a quick walk to the bus stop. Yakima buses run from about 6:30 AM until about 7 PM, and they are reliable and safe. There is free parking in the driveway for one vehicle for this room. Our living room is usually available for dining (except when Julie has music students). Guests are welcome to use our microwave and a little bit of room in the fridge. We enjoy meeting our guests when schedules allow. We both come and go at irregular times, however, so sometimes we are unable to cross paths with our guests. We try to be available by text or phone. We have self check in, and clearly written instructions for those situations. There are two grocery stores within 1 mile of our home. Additionally, there are several locally owned restaurants and at least one pub close to us. Glenwood Square, about 6 blocks away, is a re-purposed fruit warehouse, housing some of those food businesses, as well as several boutique stores. Most of our guests arrive in their own vehicles. We have ample parking in our driveway (one space per guest room). Yakima also has Uber and taxi cabs, as well as a good bus system. The buses do not run past about 7 pm, however. There is a $15 per pet cleaning fee assessed for guests to wish to bring a dog or cat with them. Additionally, guests who bring a pet are not allowed to leave pets unattended on the premises.
