A beautiful and rustic mid-century home located on 12 private acres with a creek that you can hear at all times running in the gorge out back. Inside you will feel as if you are in a tree house. Click "Read more about the space." The space You will experience a true mid-century modern house built at the end of the 60's tucked into the middle of the woods. A designers touch sits comfortably along side a warm, rustic cabin feel . From within the house you will have the experience of being in a tree house as the back falls off into a deep gorge and the entire back of the house is windows. The sound of the creek can be heard from all around the property and inside the house during the summer with the windows open. We especially love eating meals on the screened in porch during the warmer months. You will most likely not see another human being that is not one of your guests. You may however see and hear some of the local wildlife. Just remember to be respectful of them and use common sense. Claryville is a small quiet hamlet, close to countless hiking trails, outdoor activities and the Frost Valley YMCA. Open during the warmer months down the road you will find the Blue Hill Cafe, Art Center and newly opened Russian Mule Brewery. There is even a wine shop if you happen to have left that bottle at home. We love taking day trips to the up and coming town of Livingston Manor to the west or Woodstock to the east. The area is the watershed for NYC and is surround by state land everywhere. In fact the creek that runs in the back of the house is headed to be the drinking water for the residents of Manhattan. The water for the house comes directly from a spring up the hill and is filtered from within the house for the some of the cleanest water you have ever tasted! The house has internet but the only option for our rural location is satellite internet. It will keep you connected and surfing the internet but it is not the speeds you may be used to and can be weather dependent. When winter is upon us Jan - mid April we keep our private road plowed. However if you book a stay within these months it is best to travel in a capable vehicle with AWD or 4WD and exercise caution. The town roads remain plowed up to our private road. Apple Creek is not inherently a dangerous place but it is in the middle of the woods. There is not a hospital or police station right around the corner. We ask that you and your guests use a common sense that comes from being away from it all, in a rural natural setting and all that that implies. You accept full responsibility for any bodily injury arising from using the house in all its capacities, hiking the property and any interactions with wildlife and hold owner harmless. You understand there are potential dangers that use of the house in all its capacities, hiking the property and any interactions with wildlife may present to children and pets who are not carefully supervised, as well as the danger to any person using the house in all its capacities, hiking the property and any interactions with wildlife if a person has health risks, or if a person using of the house in all its capacities, hiking the property and any interactions with wildlife is doing so while intoxicated or using any kind of drugs or medication, or while pregnant. You agree to be fully and solely responsible for any accidents you may incur. You understand the risks discussed above and agree that you will assume all responsibility for yourself and for the consequences of those in your party. You agree to waive any claim whatsoever against owner for accidents or claims arising from use of the house in all its capacities, hiking the property and any interactions with wildlife.
