Rocky Retreat on Bright Lake

Custom-built cottage home perfect for the whole family. Located on a quiet, dead-end street close to the highway (you won't get lost finding it!). The one acre lot is a nice size, ideal for enjoying nature and looking at the lake. Sloped driveway/lot goes down to Bright Lake, a good fishing spot in Huron Shores, Northern Ontario. The waterfront has been excavated to remove the weeds and create a sandy beach, but there is currently no dock on the property. The space Beds are queen sized, with the exception of the twin beds, the crib and the modular sofa. All linens/towels are provided and will be set up for you, so please book with your guest count so we can have everything ready ahead of time (I will confirm a few days before too). Water: Tap/drinking water is provided by a drilled well that we test throughout the year with Algoma Public Health. There is also a Brita in the fridge. BBQ: Outdoor barbeque is propane attached to the house. Firepit: We do not provide firewood/ax; but chopped firewood is available for purchase nearby. Please look up restrictions on moving firewood across the province and buy locally. Boats: We do not currently have a dock, and the water height fluctuates a lot throughout the season. The Bright Lake boat launch is located on Sunset Beach Road, and is less than ten minutes away. Swimming: The beach is shallow but could be very weedy depending on water height and other seasonal factors. Guest access Guests will have access to the entire house, with the exception of the 2 locked utility rooms. Ample parking for 2-3 vehicles at the base of a sloped driveway, or 2+ vehicles at the road. There are no fences to define the neighbours' properties, so try to stick to the middle and you'll be fine :) Other things to note Let us know if you would like the downstairs sofa set up as a sectional (default) or a bed. We are a no-shoes house (please!) to try and limit the sand/debris. There is a large rug in the entry and a mudroom bench where you can take off and leave your shoes (we have sandals you can use to run in and out quickly if you need). Note: Shorter 2-night or 3-nights stays may be accommodated by request to fill in availability.
