If you are looking to disconnect from life & connect with nature, this is the place! The GBH is situated on 10 acres of private land, complete with a pond & walking trail beside a creek. If you choose to leave "The Hill", we are centrally located 15 miles to Ithaca (Cornell/Ithaca College), 20 miles to Watkins Glen, 10-25 miles to hiking, waterfalls, wineries, breweries, restaurants & just a few minutes to the local grocery store, ice cream & the *new* local brewery, Wetlands Brewing! The space Upon Arrival: -Mailbox clearly marked with house number. -Drive up the gravel driveway with a wooden bridge over the creek. Ample parking with motion light & keyless entry with your personal code. Inside the home: -Drop your worries at the door! -You will find a queen bedroom with closet on the first floor, adjacent to the full bathroom. -Walk into the heart of the home, the kitchen. You'll find an island for eating or catching up and all the amenities you will need to cook breakfast, lunch & dinner. (Items available for use in listing photos.) We have a mixer for baked goods, and a crockpot for those easy slow cooked meals. -Moving into the den, you'll find books and games, seating for cocktails or coffee, or just some good old fashioned quiet time. Open the window at night to listen to music of the peepers on the pond. -Into the living room we go! Here, you can get comfy. Watch a movie on the Roku tv. Hulu or Disney+ on us, or log into your preferred app. Just be sure to log out when you leave! Throw blankets for chilly nights. -Venturing up the stairs, you will see the second spacious bedroom. Queen bed here, with a walk-in closet. -Down the hall, the third bedroom with two twin beds and a closet. This room is a favorite of the kids! Feels like a fort! Outside the home: -Screened in front porch and outside deck with awesome views of the lawn and pond! A favorite hang out spot; morning, afternoon & night. Pick some fresh flowers from the garden, if you'd like! -Walk down to the pond to hang around the firepit, roast marshmallows, or make use of the paddleboat. (Please use supplied life vests!) -Fireflies will be plentiful. And on clear nights, a blanket of beautiful bright stars! Flashlights & bug spray for your use located in kitchen closet. -Walking trail by the creek. Go back down the driveway to see signage leading you to the path! If water levels are favorable, wade and look for crayfish! Guest access -You will have access to the home and 10 acres of land to roam! -Use of a paddleboat; please use supplied life vests. -Lawn games. -2 fishing poles with tackle for fishing in the pond! -Charcoal grill. Please bring your own charcoal. -Two firepits. One wood burning by the pond. The other gas, at the house. -Plenty of parking! -The garage and basement are for private owner use only. Thank you! Other things to note -If you plan to grill, please bring your own charcoal. -Please no more than 6 registered guests staying in our home. -Our home is not childproof and we do have stairs. Please bring any infant/toddler items you may need and/or baby gates, etc. -We use spring-fed well water on this property and drink from the tap while here. If you prefer to bring bottled water, that's fine too! -Plenty of nature! You may see chipmunks, ducks, a woodchuck, turkey, deer, fox or racoons. It is very rare, but you may see signs of bear. However, they typically stay away from humans. At dusk you may hear yips of fun from coyotes on the hill. A cool reminder that we all live together in this wooded place. -If you find what looks to be a wild animal in need of assistance, please let us know so we may get in touch with someone to help.
