Enjoy the sights & sounds of nature, surrounded by trees & native birds it is very possible that you will hear the distinctive call of the Morepork (Ruru) at night & the Tui each morning. Soak up the views from your private balcony or two while enjoying a glass or mug of your favourite beverage. Comfortable, beautifully presented 2 bedrooms (1 king & 1 queen), with a well-equipped kitchenette, dining area and bathroom with shower & toilet. There is a gas BBQ on the deck and BBQ utensils for outdoor cooking. Continental-type breakfast supplies will be provided on your arrival. Should you have any dietary requirements please advise us before arrival eg: Gluten free, Dairy free etc ... We have a heat pump and electric blankets for the winter months to keep you warm and cosy. Guests have easy access to the Nest, with free parking in the driveway of the main residence and a short walk to the accommodation. There is a lockbox for contactless and easy access. Even rainy days are peaceful at the Nest due to the natural lullaby of the rain on the red tin roof. Come soak up the sun and enjoy the crystal clear water this lake is famous for. Wake early enough & you'll enjoy views of the sun rising over Mt Tauhara. Guests will have access to the entire guest apartment, one or both bedrooms (as per your booking), the small garden area and two decks. All areas are separate from the main house and it has its own entrance. On arrival, you and any guests in your group will be required to sign a liability waiver due to the height of the balconies on this property. Our home is semi-attached to the guest apartment which provides for complete privacy. We always strive to welcome our guests whenever possible. In case of an emergency, please give us a call. Situated in popular Acacia Bay, you can walk to the local swimming area and the boat ramp is less than 2km away. There is a local store and bar/restaurant (Bay Bar) that is 1.2km away. Taupo town is only a 6km drive away. Acacia Bay is a small community with many beautiful homes and Lodges on the western shores of Lake Taupo in New Zealand. There are four main beach areas. It is located approximately 5 km west of Taupo. Taupo is the heart of the North Island and the perfect place to set up a base to explore. Rotorua is just an hour's drive north, while Hawke's Bay and Napier are less than 2 hours east. The ski fields and Tongariro Crossing are a 1.5-hour drive. The Waitomo Glow Worm Caves and Hobbiton are each less than 2 hours away from Taupo. Still, there is more than enough to do right outside your door, with Craters of the Moon (thermal walk), a mountain bike park, golfing, thermal spas, and so much more all within just 30 minutes drive. Or, just spend your holiday soaking in Lake Taupo's crystal clear waters. For security, please note that there are cameras that monitor the street and driveways. There are NO cameras aimed at, or inside the property. We are not PET friendly due to guests that may have pet allergies and due to the high decks, we are not KID friendly.
