Welcome to our cosy cottage located directly across the road from the beach in beautiful Whangarei Heads. A wonderful spot for the family to enjoy a swim, paddleboard or snorkel at our safe sheltered beach or head over to the ocean beaches for surf. For the trampers there is an abundance of tracks for all abilities including Smugglers Cove, Mt Aubrey or Mt Manaia - all with stunning views of the habrbour. The space This is your home away from home. It has a fully equipped kitchen with most things you would require. You will have the property to yourself with self check-in using the lock box. There are two bedrooms with Queen beds, an office space with sofa that is comfortable for a child to sleep on, a bathroom, two toilets, and an outdoor shower for after swim rinses. The bedrooms open onto the deck with harbour views. We have some boogey boards, older wave skis, stand-up paddle boards and a kayak for use - go for a paddle around the island in our bay, or a surf at Ocean Beach! This is a NO SMOKING home. The property is not suitable for small children as it is beside the road and not fenced . There is a playground by the beach and another in the next bay, local small wharves for fishing off and a tennis court close by. Within a short drive you have The Deck Cafe, and fish and chips (3 mins drive); Four Square shop, garage for ice and petrol, Indian restaurant, coffee shop and bakery at Parua Bay (9 mins drive). Your delight will be watching the kereru, tui, and kingfishers during the day, and listening to the kiwi at night while enjoying the sunsets. Whangarei town has all the shops you want and a large variety of restaurants and the famous Hundertwasser Art Centre. Guest access There is plenty of off-street parking with room for your boat, with boat launching on the door step. Other things to note Taurikura Bay is a lovely little bay just 30 minutes drive from Whangarei City on the beautiful Whangarei Heads Peninsula. This is a family friendly destination, or perfect for a quiet romantic weekend retreat.
